SPIN OFF- to people inviting people who you dont know.

Original post by bettybcafe

I read one of the other girls post and she wrote that she invited her FH's co-worker and he RSVP himself and another person..W T F right? well check this out.....

I plan on inviting everyone(or mostly everyone) that I work with..most of the girls I work with are married..but there is this one woman (shes 30) who is going through a divorce and well basically shes sleeping around with diff. guys (I know cuz she tells me this)..in any case, the other day she asks me 'Mildred, you are sending my invite with 'and guest' right? I say yes...and I ask 'Oh, are you planning on bringing Edwin' (the guy she is currently sleeping with..shes been with this guy for about 2wks now. she replys 'Maybe, I dont know, I guess it depends on who ever I am with at the time' W T F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO YOU ARE NOT INVITING STRANGERS TO MY WEDDING WHO YOU ARE JUST SLEEPING WITH...THE NERVE OF SOME PEOPLE.....I just let it go. But I told FH and it pissed him the F*** offf he said H E L L NO!!!!! Im telling you, some people just have the nerve....

JMO, but I've been invited to weddings while I was single and there was no way I was coming alone, so I'd bring a date. I'm sure there was a time the bride/groom didn't know him!

I agree. I've been to weddings where FH couldnt come and I brought a friend... when you invite '& guest' you don't have a say in who they bring with them...

I would tell her you are way over the max that your reception hall can hold and that she can't bring a guest or that you can't invite her.

Thats what I plan on doing...I just cant accept this.

I say shut her down now so she understands up forn that you will be inviting her solo, It is you choice to only invite people you know to the wedding, especially if you have a limit to the number of guests you can have.

yea its insane... thats y im NOT inviting anyone single with a date. I know it *****, but im a 25 year old paying for 90% of this wedding AND a mortgage. If i were in a different financial position I would invite the whole world, but not and CANT... It does suck for the single person but theyll have more fun ALONE than with a stranger to basicaly babysit bc he knows nobody else...

I know this is not what you want to hear, but if you do invite someone 'with guest' you have to accept whoever it is they want to be their guest, even if it is her lay of the week...

if its going to bother you, than don't invite her 'with guest' and if she says something, than you can say you can't fit an extra person on your list or whatever...

Sorry, to some degree I disagree. I wouldnt minding inviting some 'with guest' because there are actually two people that I have in mind that I am writing 'and guest' simply because they know absolutely NO ONE at my wedding...and I KNOW they are not bringing some stranger that they slept with one day. I mean, if she was still married..her husband would be invited. In her case...I would no way in H E L L let her invite someone who she knows for a week..who she may leave the following week..sorry but I am not paying good money for a stranger..and at that, a stranger who she is just sleeping with and going no where with in life.

Ok, I'm going to give honest feedback to you. If you invite someone with a guest, then they can bring whomever they want. It sounds like you are making a moral judgement about this co-worker's lifestyle. It really doesn't matter how well she knows the guy, she is bringing him so that she is not alone. You know that she does not have a serious boyfriend, so who did you expect her to bring. I didn't know half the people at my wedding, that's just how it goes. If you really believe that she will be bringing a criminal or severe low-life, then you shouldn't invite her with a guest.

Well I am officially leaving this job as of next week (because I will be starting a new job starting Feb.) So I wont actually be seeing her anymore..SOOO...I figure there is still a good 3mths before I send out invites, when the time comes I will just address it to her no (and guest)..simply because she will know people at the wedding, she wont be alone.. and if she RSVP with guest..I will call her and explain to her that my guest limit has been filled and I cannot fit in anyone else..Im hoping that helps.

This may sound mean, but if you are leaving the job, why even invite these people at all? Its not like you have to work with them anymore.

Good point - I am so with you except for the mortage part but one day I will be there.

Mil - You got this one - things change ya know-- Don't stress to much and if she ever confronts you about it just say I wanted to invite one of my new co-workers and it would only work this way I don't mean to hurt you but this is how things have to be...Good Luck girlie

A single person has a right to have the person of their choosing as company at a wedding. Hey, if I have a friend whose husband I don't like, he still gets to come to my wedding. So, if a single friend wants to bring some flavor of the week, it's fair.
