SPIN OFF- to people inviting people who you dont know.

I read one of the other girls post and she wrote that she invited her FH's co-worker and he RSVP himself and another person..W T F right? well check this out.....

I plan on inviting everyone(or mostly everyone) that I work with..most of the girls I work with are married..but there is this one woman (shes 30) who is going through a divorce and well basically shes sleeping around with diff. guys (I know cuz she tells me this)..in any case, the other day she asks me 'Mildred, you are sending my invite with 'and guest' right? I say yes...and I ask 'Oh, are you planning on bringing Edwin' (the guy she is currently sleeping with..shes been with this guy for about 2wks now. she replys 'Maybe, I dont know, I guess it depends on who ever I am with at the time' W T F!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO YOU ARE NOT INVITING STRANGERS TO MY WEDDING WHO YOU ARE JUST SLEEPING WITH...THE NERVE OF SOME PEOPLE.....I just let it go. But I told FH and it pissed him the F*** offf he said H E L L NO!!!!! Im telling you, some people just have the nerve....

Well I am officially leaving this job as of next week (because I will be starting a new job starting Feb.) So I wont actually be seeing her anymore..SOOO...I figure there is still a good 3mths before I send out invites, when the time comes I will just address it to her no (and guest)..simply because she will know people at the wedding, she wont be alone.. and if she RSVP with guest..I will call her and explain to her that my guest limit has been filled and I cannot fit in anyone else..Im hoping that helps.

Please, we had one of my DH cousin sent her response card back (we had one no guest, she changed it too two) say she was bring one of her co-workers that we didn't know. Well, I called her and told her she couldn't bring a guest so she said that she wasn't coming. I told her that was fine, then I could invite someone I REALLY wanted at our wedding.

Do what you have to do, and don't feel bad.

I know this is not what you want to hear, but if you do invite someone 'with guest' you have to accept whoever it is they want to be their guest, even if it is her lay of the week...

if its going to bother you, than don't invite her 'with guest' and if she says something, than you can say you can't fit an extra person on your list or whatever...

JMO, but I've been invited to weddings while I was single and there was no way I was coming alone, so I'd bring a date. I'm sure there was a time the bride/groom didn't know him!

Sorry, to some degree I disagree. I wouldnt minding inviting some 'with guest' because there are actually two people that I have in mind that I am writing 'and guest' simply because they know absolutely NO ONE at my wedding...and I KNOW they are not bringing some stranger that they slept with one day. I mean, if she was still married..her husband would be invited. In her case...I would no way in H E L L let her invite someone who she knows for a week..who she may leave the following week..sorry but I am not paying good money for a stranger..and at that, a stranger who she is just sleeping with and going no where with in life.

See..thats a diff. story tho. Well, did you know most of the people at the wedding. See my case is a bit different. I am inviting pretty much EVERYONE at my job...and she gets along with everyone, she will not be alone. I just cant stand someone bringing someone who she is just screwing to my wedding. This girl has literally slept with 20+ guys in a matter of months...sorry but its just not happening.

I would tell her you are way over the max that your reception hall can hold and that she can't bring a guest or that you can't invite her.

you're right. I can not remember, I probably didn't know many people so I needed a date. I can't see why this co-worker feels the need to bring this date when she has co-workers to keep her occupied. Maybe she feels uncomfortable being around her co-workers (with dates) and she's alone. That I can see. But, I will say I agree w/ the above. Nothing harsh-but you did invite her+ guest, isn't it REALLY up to her, who her guest is? Just think of it that way.

Re: SPIN OFF- to people inviting people who you dont know.

I am in the minority on this one...

I have a pretty small guest list. I know almost everyone on it and their significant others. HOWEVER, I do have a few single friends. I am inviting them 'with guest' and I really and sincerely don't mind them bringing whomever they choose. If they feel that they want to spend the entire afternoon with a guy they picked up the night before... well that is their business. Whatever makes them comfortable and happy! In fact - I don't really plan on asking questions about how they met or decided on who they are bringing! Fact is - I haven't met some of my co-workers husbands either!

I look at it this way - I am getting married. I am having a celebration and if there are people who want to celebrate with me 'WHOOOO HOOO! BRING 'EM ON!'

Now... if I did care, I simply would not invite the person 'with guest'!

I know ... that is unpopular - but I just don't see it as being much different than people who choose to have 500 guest weddings filled with quasi relatives that they don't know, never met, ain't never gonna see again

She gets along great with our co-workers. In fact, we have been to many parties (as a group) and she did just fine. I guess if I came up to her and said 'you can invite a guest' its fine..but she actually asked me...and I felt guilty telling him no to her face ...its partially my fault for not telling her no from the beginning. Also, this girl is a real B I T C H...if I told her no. she would of held it against me forever..and she would start treating me like crap...

I understand that people want to bring dates to a wedding, I totally understand...BUT I agree... W T F is wrong with people who want to just bring their lay of the week or a co worker? I feel that is not good manners...though I put myself in their shoes and if we invite 'and guest' it is an open invitation for them to bring someone...

FH's co worker has a boyfriend of 5 or 6 years...he keeps her on lock down! So she told FH that she was going to bring a girlfriend to the wedding....ARRGGGHHH...

But this is what we get.......
