spinning

girls who take (or have taken) spin classes - do you recommend it?
I really need to lose weight in my butt & thigh region. I am running and doing lunges & squats but it isnt helping that much. I see my gym offers spin classes and am considering taking them but they are at 530am and you have to call in advance to reserve a spot (which basically means i cant decide one morning that i am not int he mood to go if i made the reservation). Is it worth waking up an hour early and changing around my entire day to make it to the spin classes?

tia

also - spinning has no impact on upper body, right? i am already close to a size 2 on top...but my bottom is a size 8 and so is the dress i ordered. so losing anymore weight on top will be a nightmare for dress alterations

Re: spinning

I love spinning! In my experience, it definitely helps you lose fat/tone muscles in your thighs and butt - and it definitely does not impact your upper body.

which gym do you go to? nysc has classes and they say you need to sign up, but you don't really have to!

thanks! i just needed to know if it was worth it so i will give it a shot next week. ugh the thought of waking up at 5am to get to the gym instead of 6am
I go to a local gym in queens...i guess after my first class ill know if i really need to sign up or not

Re: spinning

I LOOOVE spinning! You sweat your balls off Especially if you find a good instructor and the music is awesome.

The problem is, you can choose to reduce just one spot of your body with ANY excersise so it may affect your upper body even though it does mainly work your lower body. If you lose weight, chances are, you will lose it everywhere

but a GREAT cardio excersise! try it!
