Spinoff again to the HM question....

Spinoff again to the HM question....

Mini-Moons... let's discuss.

Because originally we were planning on doing the family cruise the day after wedding since everyone will be there for the wedding. But now, since FH's cousin got engaged and is planning on an August 2011 wedding, we are no longer doing the cruise since we will need the money for that.

Now, I am starting to think of where FH and I could possibly do a mini-moon after the wedding since out actualy HM won't be until Nov 2011. My plan is that after the wedding I am going to take off the whole week after so I would like to find someplace we can go that won't be too expensive, and only for a couple of days (maybe leave Monday morning, come home late Wednesday or early Thursday morning).

Got any ideas for good places in May?
And what is everyone else planning on doing that isn't HMing right away?

Well what kinda stuff you looking to do?

If you want a city to tour around - head to Boston, Washington D.C even go to Chicago.

If you want to relax a little bit - head up to Maine. Beautiful B&B's up there. You can go on hikes, walk the shorelines and what not

If you want to be a kid head to Hershey lol - I always pimp that place out b/c FH and I had SOO much fun there but I am not sure if the park is open yet so you'd have to look into that

Even go to AC - you can do some spa stuff, have nice dinners, hit the casinos and do some shopping

Try the CIA if the restaurants are still open they are run by the students and their professors, so I don't know if the rests will be open then. They also offer food demonstrations with fun themes. Students also give tours for guests. It is set on the Hudson river and is beautiful. FH took me there for my b-day last year and the food was top notch at inexpensive prices. In the french rest they made us bananas foster at the table with the flames and everything!!!!!! It is in Hyde park NY so if you like historical stuff thats where elanor Roosevelt grew up. It's also fairly close to another town upstate called Rhinebeck, which was featured in newsday as a getaway!!!!

Hershey is actually a very good idea! I haven't been there in forever. I also suggested Disney to FH and he kinda like the idea of it. But I will keep all these suggestions handy.

AC would be a good idea but I am already doing an AC trip before the wedding with my mom, aunts, SIL and cousins (my 'family' b-party) so I'm not sure I would want to go back again so soon after. We'll see though.

Thanks!

Such a great idea- my cousin went and graduated from there (so proud) and she worked in the french restaurant. It really is beautiful up there - i went for her graduation. Such a fun place to go to school!!!!

OMG Hershey is sooo fun and if you really want to do it up stay the Hershey Hotel - that place is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a disney fan (which breaks FH's heart) but yea, I guess AC would be out since you are already going.

You could even try Ocean City, MD - at that time of year it would be really good to go! lots of stuff to do down there.

i'm a big fan of newport, RI. it's awesome up there- lots of great restaurants and shops, and lots of cool activities too. we did a sailboat tour of the harbor which was romantical plus, you have the mansions you can tour and even the beach if it's nice out. there are some vineyards right up the road too. like i said- so much to do!

we stayed in this cute little inn which was a converted jailhouse- so unique!

FM me if you want any more info!

Omg def do Hershey but stop and stay in Lancaster which is like 30mins from Hershey. So much to there visit the amish, eat yummy food. I love love lancaster and hershey. And the park will def be open. It opens usually in april or may. Oh and the hotels in lancaster are cheaper then if you stay by hershey just and fyi.
