Spinoff: Are bride and/or groom supposed to speak at wedding?
I know it would be me since my FH isn't very comfortable with public speaking. I'm assuming we're supposed to thank everyone, etc.

I've seen it both ways. In one wedding the groom was very shy, so he had the GM announced that in lieu of a speach he was going to play a guitar solo.

Usually whoever is hosting will welcome everyone and thank them for coming. If the B&G are paying for the wedding then they should do it.

We didn't speak. Our MOH and BM gave speeches. My dad also gave a speech and thanked everyone for coming.
