No, I dont need to READ or HEAR if people think negatively of me whatsoever

... besides, I KNOW what my flaws are... my CLOSE friends and family tell me - but if an acquaintence or practical stranger has something bad to say about me, I just don't really care because I don't value their opinions enough to

I think that only hearing the good things only gives you half th picture... I think it has to be all or nothing.

If someone you know fairly well said to you very calmly 'You know, I don't like you because I think you whine a lot/ are negative / are full of yourself.'

How would you react?

I think I'd be pissed, but then I'd obsess over the trait and try to overcompensate.

Only the one's that matter. In any community, especially one made up of predominantly women (sorry guys - I know you're out there and we love you all

) things are always going to get 'sticky' at one point or another. We're not all going to be crazy about each other. It's just the nature of the beast. Things have a way of being miscommunicated over the net too. So you're really basing an impression on what the person 'types', not what they have done on a personal level or how good of a person they are. If all the computers in the world crashed forever, how many of these posters would you ever see again? How many would you think of after awhile? How many would think of you? I think the drama post from this morning on BHB was purpetuated by the fact that the original poster kept adding comments about 'thanks for the F/M's ladies', blah, blah blah, as if she was giving the indication that comments were being thrown around about the responders to that post. IMO childish, you want to have your private comments, keep them private. Why try to intentionally put peopole on the defensive or be weary of who 'likes' them and who doesn't? I'm so 'out there' with my emotions, you KNOW if I don't like you or not. I don't need to hide behind F/M's to let you know that one.

The other side of this question (the initial question) and what always bothers me most becasue it's such a slippery slope is...

Do I just want people to tell me what I want to hear? If someone says I'm mean, will people jump to my defense?

These questions always make me wonder if I'm just fishing for compliments.

i could take the comments not the anonymous poll
