SPINOFF: Does anyone besides me actually like The Olive Garden and Applebees??

After reading the 'most hated restaurant' thread, I'm starting to think I have really weird tastes. I'm not saying these are my absolute favorite places, but I definitely enjoy them once in awhile. Am I alone here?

I wouldn't say those restaurants are good I mean they wouldn't be my first choice, but I think for sure there are worse. I'm sure people are just speaking from personal experiences. I know a few of my friends don't like those restaurants just b/c they are chains, but that shouldn't have anything to do w/ whether the food or service it bad. The worst food chain ever IMO is Pizza Hut, I think it tops them all.

I like Applebees it is a nice place to relax and not give a sh*t. Never been to Olive Garden

I LOVE Applebees!!!! I haven't been to Olive Garden in years but - when I went - I loved it there too!
They aren't your intimate romantic restaurants but they are good hang out type places.

i love applebees.. especially after 10 when theres 1/2 price appetizers.

olive garden i haven't been to in probably about 10 years.

I love Applebees - such great greasy stuff for those times I want to be 'bad' I love the oriental chicken wrap thingy they have

and even though I think I've only been to Olive Garden 2x, its not THAT bad. DH & I went with his parents not too long ago, and we were totally shocked at how good it was

I'm not a fan of either of these places but I am a fan of a lot of the places that made the hated list.

Applebee's has good chicken fingers. I'm not a fan of the Olive Garden.

it depends. I've had a couple things at Olive Garden that I hated. But we went there recently and I really liked their lasagna. So if we ever go back, thats all I'll eat.

My favorite at Applebees is the Chicken wrap with onion peels. HMmmmm

I don't hate the food at Applebee's, but the service is awful!

Olive Garden I don't mind for lunch- good soup & breadsticks.

Okay, so I'm not totally alone. I agree about Applebee's service being pretty bad, but I love their hamburgers. They took two of my fave dishes off the menu though..I used to love the sizzling beef stirfry.

At Olive Garden, I love the breadsticks, salad, chicken scampi, and the pasta dish with the chopped tomatos....can't think of the name of it.
