SPINOFF: Does anyone besides me actually like The Olive Garden and Applebees??

After reading the 'most hated restaurant' thread, I'm starting to think I have really weird tastes. I'm not saying these are my absolute favorite places, but I definitely enjoy them once in awhile. Am I alone here?

i like them both, they are my guilty pleasures, half price appetizers at applebees!!!!! they used to have the best quesadillas, but they changed the recipe, now they are so-so...

love the salad and breaticks at olive garden, and hte food isn't bad. I've found that the one iat erskine st. is a lot better than the one in westbury. It's yum.I've had applebees onece or twice and I prefer tgi friday's

ETA: one of my high school boyfrineds kept promising he was going to take me to a 'really nice' dinner at Olive Garden. LOL He was so sweet though.

i used to work at crapplebees so i don't want to go back. and when the 1/2 price apps came at 10, ohhhh

I like both places too! Since DH works for Darden (Darden owns Olive Garden, Red lobster, Smokey Bones, Bahama Breeze and Seasons 52, although I think only Red Lobster and Olive Garden are in the NE region) we get 25% off Olive Garden so it sweetens the deal quite a bit.

I think the reason many people dont like Olive Garden esp in the tri-state area is because there are so so many authentic Italian restaurants that you dont really need an Olive Garden. (which in many people's opinions including myself, Olive Garden serves a watered down Americanized Italian menu) - of course I'm sure Olive Garden is a great restaurant in other parts of the country where its hard to get good Italian food.

I have been to OG - and its not bad but I guess I am spoiled growing up in a household where my mom cooked Italian food every sunday and we always went to the best Italian restaurants so I was exposed to authentic Italian fare.

I've never been to Olive Garden but Applebee's is alright - the worst to me is Sizzler (puuuukkkee!!)

Applebee's shares a special place in our hearts...it's where DH and I first started speaking to each other and spent many a date night....and many dinners.

We also like Olive Garden....

O like Olive Garden, especially their toasted raviolis!! But DH doesn't like it, so we never go. We both have to agree and like a place or its a waste. Applebees is ok too. They are kinda like a don't know where else to go place for me!!

I love Olive Garden! Not all the time, but once in a while its good! I really have no complaints about it.

I love there boneless buffalo app. YUM.
I work at TGI Fridays as a bartender (second job) I wish there boneless chicken was as good... I like applebees so much better then TGI F. Olive Garden not such a big fan of italian chain food.
