spinoff from Fiance wants my hair down...what do you hear lip about?

I get the same crapola as Bridex100 from FH about my ears....he says i should wear earrings (i am purposely having my hair down to avoid the issue....AND i want it down). the thing is, i'm highly allergic in my ears and don't want to bother with it. my mom's aunt is in her 70s and after all these years, her ears have NEVER become less sensitive...guess that's where i got it. the last time i wore earrings was 7 years ago to my senior prom...and for 2-3 months after that, my ears were sore and infected. just a couple of weeks ago, FMIL offered to buy me earrings, platinum if need be, if I would just try them for the wedding...I told her with 2 months to go, the last thing I should do is experiment with my ears turning red and hurting....duh. She seemed annoyed...and FH gets annoyed when it's brought up b/c I won't bend, but these are my ears we're talking about...it's not like there is an heirloom necklace I'm opposed to b/c i think it's ugly....we're talking my ears being gross.

i have sensitive skin and there's nothing i can do about it...i used to break out from all jewelry and look like i had poison oak/ivy....regardless of how 'pure' it was. I could live without hearing their complaints...and I am perfectly happy to not wear them...why is that an issue for them??

As someone allergic to jewelry, I totally feel your pain. I'm not as bad, because I can wear gold and I can wear silver for a day but not much longer than that. For me, I know it is the posts that bother me. Could you try clip on earrings? If you really don't want to wear earrings, then just stand your ground and have your FH pick some other kind of jewelry that he would like you to wear for him. Seriously, if you don't want to wear them, you shouldn't have to.

Oh and I get lip for wanting all my things to be perfect. I got a beautiful glass candle votive for my shower but it was damanged. The tealight candle was warped and the rubber feet on the bottom of the candle were detached. I still hear about how my FH thought the candle was fine and there was no need to return it. But if I get something that I think is damaged, I exchange it. I'm a perfectionist. That is how I am. I still hear about the damn candle!

I hear lip about the color of the BM dresses (mocha)- he thinks it'll clash with the balck tuxes...

other than that, he really hasn't come after me for anything, except that he'll be so mad if i'm wearing a red dress, hehe (which i would never do, but i tease him about it anyway)

fmil: what are they wearing?
me: chris (groom) will be in ivory, gm's will be in gray, dads in black and rb's in ivory as well
fmil: oh, they are going to get sooo dirty
fmil: well, whne daddy goes i want to go with him, i want him to match my dress
me and fh: no, he's wearing black, that will match fine
fmil: oh, ok

but i know she will try to change it. no offence to anyone here, but this is not the junior prom where you have to match down to your undies. and its black, black!!!! not red or even silver.

this is just a small part of what i've been going through. she has a complaint or 'suggestion' at every turn

FMIL-yes, well, 'FFIL' is wearing a suit and I have a dress already.
ME-nope, he's wearing a tux, too.
FMIL-oh? now i have to buy a new dress cause the one i have won't go with a tux.

FMIL-i was happy when i thought 'FFIL' was wearing a suit b/c then the dress was fine.

(for the record, she wore the dress to FBIL's graduation yesterday....A-it needs a slip even though it has one built in cause you could see right through it in minimal light and B-there is no way you could wear that to a 'LI' wedding [of this degree] as the parent of the bride or groom and C-she really thought that was a great choice?

Earrings are a problem with me too. Don't wear them. Enough said. Or, you can say you'll wear earrings and just show up without them. They won't even notice.

I heard lip about having black and red for our Spring wedding. We chose our colors before our date because we like them. And the people that were complaining the most said they loved the girls in black with the contrasting red flowers on the wedding day.

I just hear lip about how much time I spend on liweddings.

I WISH I heard lip about a certain DETAIL of the wedding... that would prove he's paying attention!

So I have a question sinse everyone is talking about tuxes and inlaws. I am no longer speaking about wedding things to my FMIL, so I cant ask her, but If my father is wearing a tux....does that mean my FH's father has to wear a tux? I didnt even think of asking him if he wanted to wear a tux. But what if he doesnt want to wear one?

If it's in your budget, get 18K yellow gold. You will not have any infection. When I first got my ear pierced I could only wear 18K and 24K yellow gold earings. Never got infected like with other earings.

White gold has to many other metals. It will get infected.
