My tribal butterfly is because I love the freedom a butterfly represents as well as the amazing transformation they go through as they mature!! It was also a rebellion against my parents (and a little rebellion against my religion!)

my first tattoo which is a cross and a rose is a matching tattoo with my mom. Her and I went together and got matching tattoo's.
My second tattoo is a dolphin. He's facing behind me. He is my sorority mascot and he's watching my back
My third is winnie the pooh and elmo playing with building blocks. On the blocks are my sorority letters. I love winnie the pooh and elmo as well
My fourth is an Ankh with purple flames. An Ankh is the egyptian symbol for eternal life.

I love dragons.. Always have.. they are strong and fragile, wise and clumsy, feared without reason and misunderstood, they are loyal and witty as well. Seem as human as you can get if you ask me!!
The black is a direct relation to 9/11 The fire as well. The green follow my friend who loved frogs, she died on 9/11
So yeah.. it means something to me. No one gets it when they see it and im ok with that. It's my body and my meaning.
The tat guy was shocked when I said I wanted it on my arm. He said most women my age want it somewhere they can hide. I figure for the money I pay I should be able to see it!!!
Short sleeve shirts cover it fine for work, no biggie. Lately it's been too cold for sleeveless anyhow!!!

Mine is a Horse shoe ...i ride duh, the isnside the hose shoe is colored with the irish flag colors (green, white and orange)...i am irish there is a white calla lilly that goes through the horseshoe..my fav flower.

Since I drew one of mine myself, it means a lot. I'm a 'tree hugger', so it's a big tree with a setting sun behind it, and roots wrapping around a bear paw (which has Native American symbology).
I'll try to get a pic of it...

i just replied to another thread, but mine is my name. my name is japanese and it means happy child, so i got the symbol of my name. it is simple and small and it wasn't something that wouldn't mean something in 3 years...i def think that a tattoo should have a meaning, rather it being a fad...

Mine has a Irish Claddagh w/ means Friendship, loyalty & Love. The shamrock is the sign of the Holy Trinity Father, Son & the Holy Ghost. It's in honor of my parents who made me the good Irish Catholic that I am!!!

Mine is two japanese symbols that mean 'Angel' My cousin died of cancer when I was 13 (he was 15 at the time) and my brother and I were very close to him. To make us feel better, my grandmother told us he was an 'angel' looking out of us so we shouldn't be sad, he would always be with us. Since then, I always felt like I did have a guardian angel, so when I got older and got a tattoo, it seemed perfect
