spinoff Hand Cancelling

sooo i go to the post office today, and get my postage....i ask about hand cancelling...

the lady says 'always....wedding invitations always get hand cancelled' so my mom says 'OH great! so they don't have to go through the machine?'

the lady says......'Every piece of mail goes through a machine...they will be hand cancelled and then go through the appropriate machine for that type of envelope'

again my mom asks, 'will that damage the invitation?'

she said, 'no, the machines are made to accommodate different types of envelopes..' she seemd to be getting impatient with our questions so i got aggravated...but

1st off....if they're being hand cancelled, why would they have to go through any sort of machine?????

2nd, do you really think there's a machine specially for funky envelopes and they won't get damaged???? i HATE having 2 worry about this!!

ANYONE LIVE IN SUFFOLK AND HAD THEIR'S HAND CANCELLED IN FRONT OF THEM??? if so, where did u go??

if theyre hand cancelled they wont go through the machine of the post office you drop them off at, but when they arrive at their destination they will go through a sorter..however, they do have different machines for different types of mail, so the machine your bills go through isnt the same as the one your invites will go through

they should be fine, as long as theres nothing that would get 'caught' in the machine, like a rhinestone or buckle that sticks out

ok.... first, FH lives in Manorville.....so it wouldn't be far fetched for me to be out there!

i will bring them to his post office to make SURE they are hand cancelled (cuz the lady at my office was SHADYYY)

my invites have a rhinestone buckle (not a huge one) on the INSIDE of the invitation, so its folded up on the inside in the envelope...

that shouldn't be too bad right?? and do i tell them that its there? just in case?

is it a pocketfold? as long as the buckle isnt touching the envelope it should be fine..

if its not a pocketfold is there anyway you could put the insert cards over the buckle?

its a pocketfold!!!

so its covered by the closures...the buckle is on the actual invitation part inside when its all openend up.

so the inserts and the top cover is on top, then the envelope on top of that!!

i guess im in the clear!!
