Spinoff: How do you find a good plastic surgeon?

I know of the site called NY Physician's Profile, or something like that, to check out a doctor's credentials, and if they've ever had claims against them, but -

-How do you find a good plastic surgeon for specific surgeries?
Like, how do I find the best rhinoplasty specialist?

One doctor might be amazing with breast surgeries but not with facial plastic surgery. My sister just had a reduction just by going to the guy one of her friends recommended - she didn't do any research!

-If anyone has recommendations of specific doctors, please feel free to FM.

Thanks, I know, that's what inspired my thread. But, that one is more about specific skin-oriented plastic surgeons for m.ole removal and the like.

I was looking for info about 'official' site to check out (maybe run by a plastic surgery accrediting board?) and/or personal accounts (FM'd) from people who have had their noses altered.

Thanks for looking out for me though.

Sorry! I don't have any advice, but I always go with surgeons affiliated with teaching hospitals because I think they tend to be more up-to-date on the latest trends and procedures.

By referrals and seeing their work.

Ok, after looking up a few names that three sweet girls FM'd me, I found a link to the kind of site I was looking for:

I found my surgeon by talkking to people who had surgery of what I was looking for. That is how I decided who I liked...because I saw their results.

Referred by my doc. Then I saw 6 others. Finally chose the one I have used. He's the bomb! I also was able to call several of his former patients to see his work.
