Spinoff of MarcellaBella's BORED post- what weird/annoying things do you have to do for your boss?

Well, it's actually funny that I'm bored. You wouldn't think that I'd be between searching for yoga classes online for my boss, running to get her stickies (b/c she doesn't know where the supply room is!); making her tea; heating up her lunch; getting her a new lunch b/c she 'didn't like' the one she got; making copies of articles from 'Real Simple' magazine, buying her movie tickets, I could go on.

Also, a few weeks ago I had to buy a dozen bagels and Reeses peanut butter cups to send to my OTHER boss' friend in London - on the company no less!

if that were my boss I would not be bored...I'd spend my free time figuring out how to kill her and not get caught!! I can't stand running personal errands for employers!

yesterday i had to make a full color copy of an entire new york times two page spread.
do you know how hard that was???
i was doing alot of snipping and taping...
very CIA-ish...
p.s. that was after i had done it in b&w.

I think I may have a winner here...

My former boss (I say that with glee in my voice) was French. He didn't have the best time writing the English language, so he'd make me edit his emails before he sent them.

Well, one email was to his new American boyfriend. It kind of looked like this (I've added my corrections in certain areas so it makes sense to you):

Der Bib (Bob),

I mees you sew mush. I can't help but thing of the teengs (things) we can do when we goh to Montreoal next wiik. I em thinging that we should try and go to the theatre, and to veset (visit) Andy and Raul. The hose they bawt is supposed to be rily incredeeble.

I'm ataching a pecture of mysewlf that I took at the bich (beach) last weak. Hope you luv it.

Attached to this email was a picture of my boss in a speedo with googles, holding up a bouquet of flowers.

BTW, he made 250G's a year.

Thank God I've moved up in the world.

Well technically he's not my boss, but he's a partner in the firm I work at.

Every once in awhile he calls us to do research that he says is for a client and then turns out to be for his LAZY A$$ SON in high school or college.

We have to borrow books, get articles copied or faxed, and one girl I work with spend a Sunday and Monday morning at NY Public Library going through old NY Times on microfiche for articles for this kid. He never says it's for his son until later on.

He does say thank you (except for the girl above, she was PI$$ED when she found out what the articles were really for). This guy isn't doing his son any favors by making us do all the grunt work.

If I was your boss, I'd be embarassed to have someone edit that before sending it. I'd also have saved the picture and sent it out to others in the firm (well ok no but how funny would it be if you had done that!).
I really believe that people either have no shame or they just think others don't care or both...

I REFUSE to do anything fo the jersk I work for...but others have:

Plugged in her curlers in the bathroom in the morning before she came in (because she would leave a voicemail at night)

Others have gone out fo the boss to buy him a bar of cracker barrel cheese...and he just stood there, sliced it and ate it off the knife...eww

Every Wed. I have to go to King Kullen to get her Italian Bread and a cake to take to her Aunt's for dinner. I also have to go Christmas shopping for her. At least it is on the companies time and I use a company car

I have to remind my boss when his wife's b-day is, their anniversary, V-day and other important holidays because he forgets. I have to make doctor appointments for me and then cancel them because he can't make it. But other than that, I love my boss. He does not make me do anything that is really out of my job description.
