*Spinoff* of my own post: Is numbering the back of response cards important?

I stuffed all my invites bu they are not sealed yet. Should I number the back of the response cards? Does it really help? TIA

Yes! There will be that one person who doesn't put their name on the response. Definitely number them!

I did it and I am glad. I got a response checked off yes and the number of people attending (2) with no names. Since I did number them I knew exactly who it iwas

we didn't do it and it wasn't a problem, everyone filled in their names. we thought worst case scenario, we would be able to figure it out by the postage since our guests are from all over the place...

Yes. We recently got a response back with no name on it and we put the numbers on the back and were able to figure out who it was.

Yes I think it is important - Some people forget to pur there names on it and this way you will know who it was....

My parents begged me to do it. But I did not want to ruin the invite. Everything turned out fine. Everyone had their name on it.

I did it, but of couse EVERYONE wrote their name, so it was a waste of time. I do suggest doing it, if a guest doesn't write their name, you have to wait until your response date to figure out who it is

I did it but it ended up being unnecessary.

I think you're better off doing it. If they aren't necessary, oh well, you spent a few extra minutes numbering. But if you don't do it and you get back responses without names it will probably take a lot longer to figure out who sent it back.

yes
i got a 'no' reply and they didn't put their name on it. i figured it out from the postmark but if you're mailing it to a town where alot of your guests live i would number them so you can tell who is sending it back if they forget to put thier name on it.

It is also helpful when Mr. and Mrs. Smith respond, and there are like 8 families that it could be in your family!

We happen to have the same last name on both sides of the family (no relation, his mom remarried someone with the same last name as my dad, so both sides of the family have a lot of this particular name)

so, that way we can tell WHICH mr. and mrs. SMITH it is LOL

I numbered mine and a couple have come back with the sloppiest handwriting and if it wasn't for the number I would have no clue!

Yes, I did it and I had guests who did not write their names.

I used pencil and wrote numbers way on the inside of the RSVP envelope so that no one would see the numbers...it worked perfectly!

i was told to do it and I did but didn't need to in the end - everyone sent them back with their names clearly written
