hey girls speaking of being introduced after the coctail hour.... i don't plan on changing my name... not because i'm a super feminist or anything... its just that my first name and his last name sound HORRIBLE together.... so... any ideas on how to have the DJ announce us, since i don't think we can really do the whole ' mr. and mrs ___ ' thing....

Re: Spinoff on 'introductions'
I haven't seen this done before but I was thinking maybe 'Introducing for the first time as husband and wife - Adam & Eve'

I understand what you mean by not changing your name, but do you just not want to be called Mrs Smith??
I ask because at the intro they don't have to say
Joe and Jane Smith ...
They can just say Mr & Mrs. Smith or Mr & Mrs Joe Smith (without your name)
that way there's no awkwardness.
At the end of the day.. folks somewhere at some time in your life will refer to you as Mrs. Smith. *shrug*

Re: Spinoff on 'introductions'
I am not changing my name, so they're either gonan say 'for the first time as husband and wife, J and D'
or Mr D Hubbykins and Mrs. J Wifekins

I think the stuff you're suggesting is WORSE.
if you're not changin your name, you're not Mrs smith, and you're DEFINTIELY not 'mrs. joe Smith'.
Also, sure some people will call you Mrs Smith, but you don't have to set the precedent and call yourself something you don't want to be called.

Re: Spinoff on 'introductions'
I'm going to hyphenate my name, but I don't care if we are introduced as 'Mr. and Mrs. K'

true.
Hey I was only offering a suggestion. To me, it seemed she only had an issue with her first name and his last name sounding funny. It wasn't an issue of keeping her own name. *shrug*
I tried.

Re: Spinoff on 'introductions'
I didn't change my name and didn't have introductions, but when the DJ called us up for the first dance and the cake cutting, he only used our first names and referred to us as 'the bride and groom'
