we did ours 10 months in advance
At least 5!
It depends. Are you on a holiday weekend? Are you someplace where the choice of hotels is limited (like the East End)? If either of these applies - the sooner the better!
I did mine a year out because I'll have a ton of OOT guests and wanted to include the hotel info in the STDs.
I would do it as soon as possible....I am guilty of procrastinating, I waited until 4 months before the wedding, and all the hotels in the nearby vicinity were completely booked! We ended up blocking only 10 rooms in a hotel 20 miles away :(
I got married in November, and I believe I booked mine a year in advance. I am so happy because I LOVE my hotel (Plainview Marriott Residence Inn). They have AMAZING amenities - and an amazing restaurant where we're having our rehearsal dinner. We reserved 20 rooms for Saturday night and 25 for Sunday night. If I remember correctly, the locked rate will be 139/room/night. And I am not responsible for any rooms not booked.
We booked ours about 1 year in advance. This is something I'd book as soon as you can.
they wouldn't let me until 11 months before...said they didn't have pricing info earlier than that.
