I'm going to invite him. I don't know if he'll come, but I think it would be a nice gesture. We're also inviting him to the reception, and no he's not a family friend. Again, just a nice gesture since he's performing the service.

my officiant is a family friend, and I'm hoping he'll come to the RD as well as the reception.

We invited our priest but unfortunately he can't make it. I think if you know them well it's the polite thing to do.

I have every intention of inviting mine to both the RD and the wedding. In fact when appearing in front of the judge last week I asked him for his home address to send the invite!
