Spinoff to August brides/tuxes thread....

My question is...what do you do when you have OOT best men?

FH lives in Northern NJ, his best men live an hour & a half away...my nephew is also part of the bridal party, and I figure my brothers in law should wear a tux since they're walking me down the aisle (Funny thing is, FFIL is not wearing a tux!). BILs & Nephew live on LI.

How do we go about this? Should FH and his best men just get together in some midpoint in NJ and they order them together and just make a trip to pick them up....or should we just pick a chain for everyone to just go where it's convenient?

For those of you with OOT bps, how are you doing it? Thanks!

i would look into a national chain.

Thats what we are doing. All you have to do is go, pick the exact tux you want them to wear and its in the computer. They go to their nearest store to get fitted, give your name and POOF its all done.
I am not quite sure where they pick them up from though. A very important question i forgot to ask!

I got groom men all over the place. We are ordering the tux from Men's Warehouse. They have them all over the place. I just go to the Men's Warehouse by me and select the shirt ... vest and tuxedo for them...They put them into the computer under 00T bridal party. They can walk into any Men's Warehouse and give my name and they can pull it all up.

Our BM lives in Israel, and only 2 of FH's 6 GMs live in NY!! We are debating right now between Men's Wearhouse because they are everywhere (except Israel, of course..ha) or a tux shop FH likes in Bayside, Queens. The big question, we learned from friends who did not use MW was what they do if an incorrect size is sent...in the case of the smaller, more private store, they had quick access to replacements, as MW did not..just something to think about..how they deal with last minute 'crisis' Hope this helps!! :) Edited to say make sure everyone can at least get to a place where they can be measured...Israel is hard because they use the Metric system..haha
Edited AGAIN (d'oh) to say check if they can all meet to pick them up and if there's a location near where your GMs are staying to drop them ASAP the following day so as not to incur more charges..hope that makes sense...I'm just thinking I know there is a MW down 110 from our hotel, but depending on their answer to the question above, we still might do Queens (some of our GMs are a bit tough to fit, we fear) Whew!!

we have all OOT GM (2 in idaho, 1 in cali, 1 in upstate ny, 1 in NJ) and we're using jims formalwear to rent suits. i found store locations that carry the suit we like and the sent the list of closest locations to all the guys in an email. so they can either choose to go get their measurements there, but they dont have to, they can get the measurments done by any tailor. The website for the suits we're using has a form they have to print out and bring with them to record their measurements, and then we're having them each send the forms to us and we're bringing the slips to a jims formalwear carrier on LI near our RH. When the guys get in, they'll all go like 2 days or so before and pick them up, make sure no alterations need to be made, etc. And drop them back off the morning after the wedding. Thats just our plan.

i have 2 oot groomsmen, they are going to college in Boston.... we ordered the tuxes from a place on long island and they gave us a card to mail to them so that they can get fitting at another tux place (tux places will usually give measurements for free)..
and they are going to pick them up the day before the wedding since the wedding is out on the island.. and then drop them off the day after i am guessing. didnt really ask that question at the tux place

Us, too! The guys just need your group # , can be fitted at any men's wearhouse, and get the exact same tuxes. They can also return the tuxes at any location & it doesn't have to be the same place where they were picked up. ...very convenient!
