Spinoff to babies thread: How old will you be when you have kids?

How old do you all think you will be when you decide to start having kids. Im still undecided on whether I want children. I think my mind will change in the future though. Im thinking I will start having kids around 32 but it also depends on how stable we are.

Im thinking 30-31.... but it depends on $$$$$.....FH and i make the same amount of money and I am going to stay home at least until they go to school. Im torn about staying home, i complain about work but i dont want to turn into one of those crazy moms....

I will be 28 when we get married and we decided we would like to wait at least 2 years before we have a baby, to enjoy ourselves and being married. So that would make me around 30. I'm hoping i'm pregnant by the time i'm 30!!

sounds like most of us are thinking the same way

i guess whenver we are financially and mentally ready - i want to be in a house for at least a year or two AND be more than comfortable living off of just FH's salary - we both want me to stay home when we have children......a part of me can't wait and there is another part of me that is selfish and doesnt really want kids - i want FH all to myself!

I couldnt have said it better myself. I feel the same way.

if FH had his way they would be now ..25 ... i dont know i want to try to have them before i am 30 ... and FH doesnt want to plan it he just wants it to happen ...

30-31sounds good right now. Like others said FH and I want to enjoy one another for a bit also I'm not ready to slow down my social calendar yet I don't want to wait too long tho b/c FH is older (35 now)and he wants his next before he hits 40.

I'll be 29 & FH will be 35 when we say 'I do'. I'm thinking I'd like to be 31 and hopefully I can have twins and get it over with in one shot!

I used to feel that way, the selfish part, I mean...but, we've been living together for so long now, (five years, together for 2 1/2 before that) that I know I'm ready to share him with kids. I plan on starting IMMEDIATELY! I'll be 33 (this Tuesday) when we get married, so I don't want to wait, since I'd like to have at least two...and I don't want to wait, and then have problems.

I used to feel the same way. But it is different when you have your own kids....I still dont really like other people's kids, lol!

Around 27 maybe a tiny bit later. Def. want first baby before we are 30.

Ignore the selfish part! I worried about sharing my FH with our daughter, too. It is only natural. Once you have a baby it is so hearwarming to watch your FH with that child. There is no jealousy because their relationship is different than yours. Having a child brings your relationship to a whole different level. It's really amazing!
