6 months ago, DH and I spent $1200 on a queen sized bed. We knew we'd be moving at some point, but we desparately needed a new one and a queen is the only one that would fit where we are now.
We are in the process of buying a house, and we REALLY want a king. We are planning on buying a new queen for the guest room, so I'm thinking that maybe we'll put the queen in the guest room and buy a king for us. But we just spent $1200 on the queen 6 months ago, can I justify buying a whole new bed now? We wouldnt ordinarily spend $1200 on a bed for the guest room

Fh & I absolutely love our king size bed but I would use the queen you have for now in the new place and when there are funds available buy a new king then out your queen in the guest room.

i would go for the king and put the quees in the guest room, they will both last you a long time, and you'll be comfortable

hhmm...practical me would probably wait until I had some potential guests to buy the new bed.
This is what we plan to do when we buy a house...wait until someone actually says they are coming to visit us, then go out and buy a queen bed for the guest room. (we already have a king in our room) You can usually get beds same day or next day.
Also, for a King bed check out Shop NBC. They run holiday specials (labor day, pres day, etc) on serta perfect sleepers. We got a king Euro pillowtop and box spring for $1100, free shipping, no tax and we could have paid off over 5 months. It took about 3 weeks to get though, so its not a quick fix.

i'd say sleep on the queen until you have the money (or a reason like guests) to buy the king, then move what you have to the guest room and buy the king for yourselves.

We wanted a King, but it would never fit up that stairs of our cape. If you can fit it, I'd say buy it and put the one you have in the guest room.
