I do the whole head, to make sure that it's all the same color. I don't do anything radically different from my normal hair color. It lasts about 6 weeks, but if you are really nervous about messing up, you can use a semi-permanent color that only lasts through 24 shampoos.

Mine are starting to pop up more and more...I have really dark hair also, so they are pretty obvious. I am still in denial, I dont even blowdry my hair so I am afraid to dye it, I dont want to damage it. Someone told me I can get a wand (like a mascara wand) and do just the greys-but I have not seen this anywhere.

I am really starting to get some serious grays.. but I don't care- I'm hoping my whole head turns gray.. so I can be one of those young people w. gray hair (I always think that looks good).

I fess up .. i'm getting more grey than ever, and I color it .. (but I colored it for awhile anyhow, since my natural color is VERY dark brown and I like it a bit lighter, w/highlights..)
funny ever since planning the wedding, I'm sprouting MORE greys! Hmm..
Re: spinoff to bttrflygrl's post - who colors their hair to cover GRAY??!!!
I've been 'sprouting' () grays since college...but they were scattered...noe I am noticing some clumping...
I wish I could go gray with dignity...maybe I can....

I have very dark brown hair almost black and I've had greys since I was in my early twenties and I die my hair every 6 weeks. I die it my natural color though because I don't like to see roots.

Yes, I dye to color greys but sometimes I go with a totally dif color than my natural. I like changing my hair color often!

This is an issue I really need to address - soon. Greying gracefully is not happening - I mostly have those wiry silver hairs that stick out and wave at people

I do and I am only 25, I starting getting them at 18! I have really dark hair and my grey shows up easily. So my hairdresser suggested highlights to make the grey less noticable.
