Why all the hatin' on the (probably exaggerated) money figures regarding Chelsea Clinton's wedding?

Almost once a month, someone on here posts the (never original) question: IF MONEY IS NO OBJECT...WHAT KIND OF WEDDING WOULD YOU HAVE?

Which we all answer with our ideas, visions of upgrades and designers and destinations dancing in our heads.

She's someone where obviously, money is no object. Good for her for being able to answer the question and actually live the dream.

Just a thought!

that post about the invitations was me..I believe every1 is entitled to their own opinion, not necessarily 'hating' on the other person.
Everyone spends money on things they want to spend money.

i don't think it was you. i really don't remember. the one i'm thinking of was about 4 months ago.

i told girls all the time.. leave ur freakin ring and designer purse at home. vendors look at that stuff

On another note...yes we would all spend crazy amounts of money on stuff if we could...but seriously an aisle runner can't be that expensive.

i didnt post on the other thread... but i agree with Celia... its not hating on her... its wondering how its possible to even spend that much money on a wedding... lol i dont think i could even if i tried

You guys, I could be wrong, but I think she's actually getting a lot of things loaned or comped. The reported numbers seem like estimates to me. It's fantastic PR for vendors if one of their products/items/services is featured in a President's kid's wedding.

i actually think there's a lot of hate on this site about people spending money and not just re chelsea. (specifically, i remember a post where people were criticizing how much other people spent on invitations)

i just think it's all relative. if you have the money to spend, why not spend it.

ITA. i love big fabulous weddings and i can't wait to see hers!!!

and just to add - some of the figures are made up. i know for a fact that the figures on Platinum Weddings are wayyyyy exaggerated. the media blows everything out of proportion.

I am not hating- I just dont understand how a aisle runner is 10K or flowers 500K. The other stuff I get- the dress, food, music, rings. If I had the money I would get a Vera Wang too.

Right, you could donate that money to charity or pay a friends debt!
