So as I was reading through the other post that cappygirl asked about the color of shoes when you have an ivory dress, I saw a lot of ppl mentioned that they didnt want to dye shoes. Can I ask why? Whats the drawback to dyeing shoes?

i only had 1 experience with dying on shoes. when i was in a bridal party we had the store where we purchased the shoes die them & the day of the wedding the color looked different. lighting in the store vs natural light.

I read on LIW once that dyeable shoes are a lot harder and stiffer than normal shoes, they don't give in. So no matter how hard you try to break them in, you don't have much luck.

Re: Spinoff to color of shoes question....
I had dyeable shoes for my friends wedding two years ago, as a bridesmaid. Her wedding was at the Carlyle on the Green and we took pictures on the grass and it was a beautiful day - but there was a natural moisture in the grass that completely ruined all our shoes. Like water stains.
