Spinoff to cramp question - need an opinion.... UPDATED
Hi everyone, I'm glad I hopped on this board bc I saw trish's post about a wierd cramp and was about to post the same question!!! I need some experienced opinions please. My cramping just started last night - felt very much like AF cramps, but just in the lower right side of my abdomen. However, AF isn't due for another couple weeks. I thought it might be gas or hunger pains, but it still hasn't gone away and I've taken care of both those possibilities Also, I've been having really bad back pains this morning too, and Golem was acting really funny last night - he refused to leave my side and fell asleep under my feet while I was watching tv after getting home from work, and he usually does not do that. Even this morning, as soon as he saw me, he kept following me into the next room or was waiting at the door when I came out of the bathroom... So of course with all of this wierd stuff, the first thing I think is 'pregnant?' Am I jumping the gun here, or have you ladies had these symptoms before you knew you were pregnant? Any advice would be most appreciated - I just want to know if I'm getting worked up over nothing or if this is legit enough to test over. Thank you so much!

It's so funny that you should write that about the dogs because I'm convinced they all know I'm prego. My dog will not leave me alone. I'm constantly tripping over him. lol!
Also - I was in the elevator with 3 guys (all holding breakfast sandwiches) and another guy with one of the bomb sniffing dogs, and the dog would not stop jumping on me in the elevator. It was the wierdest thing because those dogs are really well trained. I was also really embarrassed. lol!
It's hard to say about the cramps.... This is what I experienced before I found out I was prego. I had regular AF cramps, but I also had a 'burning' feeling around my ovaries. It kind of felt like I was ovulating, but a little different. Sorry if that's not the best explanation - I don't know how else to describe it.

It sounds like it could be PG symptoms. Yuo should take a test and go from there. Baby dust! (because I think you guys were officially TTC, right?)
As for the dogs...I dont have a dog but I have a cat and 'Joey' (the cat) is pretty standoff-ish most of the time but for the last 3 or 4 days he will no leave me alone! He is always meowing (and he is not a vocal cat normally) and following me around - i keep tripping on him. And he sleeps with me every night.
I've heard animals have intuition like that.

thanks ladies! I forgot to mention that I have been having a lot of headaches lately too. Also, one of our neighbor's dogs almost followed me home last night as I was walking back from the bus stop! They were all playing on their front lawn and the dog was just lounging there. When I walked by, he got up, and just slowly crossed the street and walked next to me - no barking or anything, just walking at my side! The owner apologized and was like 'he never does that' - I totally forgot about that until just now! I feel so conflicted - I don't want to get excited and have it turn out to be early AF, but at the same time, I can't help but being a little freaked out at the possibility that I could be preggo! We're not officially trying yet, but Craig keeps telling me that he is ready now, and I'm trying not to place all these 'rules' on our financial situation and TTC anymore either. I'm so curious and scared at the same time just thinking about it though!! I'm getting the feeling that I might not be imagining this, so I'm going to see what happens over the next few days. If I'm still feeling like this after the weekend, then I am going to call my doctor for an appointment. Thanks again - I love that we have this awesome community to share advice with!!

Thats weird cause I was thinking the same thing. I am getting cramping - but more like a burning, it weird how to describe it. I am not sure about the aches and pains though - everyone keeps saying everyone is different.
Also, about my puppy, she has been acting weird. First, I have noticed the last couple of days she has been sleeping on top of my feet -whether I am standing or sitting. This is very unlike her - when she wants to sleep she usually goes to the other side of the room. And the other day I started playing with her, she just stopped and leaned over a lick my stomach - it was the weirdest thing. (I did think to myself - did I just eat something and maybe there was a crumb (heehee) - but that wasn't the case).

I definitely think there could be something to these cramps, Helena .. that and your puppy acting so differntly all sound pretty convincing to me!

Thanks Felicia! It's all I can to right now to not tear out of my office and run to Duane Reade to buy a test.... but I'll wait and see what this weekend brings! Excited and nervous right now - I'll keep you all posted with what happens!!

if AF isn't due for a couple of weeks, it might be ovulation cramping! If you are trying, it'd be time to BD!!

I got cramps about a week after ovulation. I don't know if that's around the time you're at right now but if it is then I would say it's possible that you are preggers.
If AF isn't due for a couple of weeks I would wait at least a week until you test.

just a small update DH is SOOOOOO adorable! After I told him last night how I've been feeling with the cramps and all, he called me this morning at work as soon as I got in to tell me about all the research he's been doing on pregnancy symptoms! He said he needed to educate himself, just in case this is the real deal, so he would know what to expect too
I am still having the same cramp in the lower right side of my abdomen, and last night Craig and I pretty much talked about everything - money, worries, and basically what it all came down to was my fear odf not ebing able to handle it if we were preggo. I have this silly paranoia that Craig's going to think I'm not capable of being a good wife, mother, etc,. and that he'll leave me. It's compeltely insane, bc I know he would never do that! It's just a nasty little goblin thought in my brain that comes up every once in a while. When I told him that, he said that he had more faith in me than I have in myself, so that was really reassuring and I'm trying to stay positive - no matter what the results are! Anyway, the curiosity is really starting to get to me now! So tonight after work DH and I are going to get a pregnancy test and see what comes up. I'm excited and nervous all at once for the results - tonight feels like it's years away now! I'll keep you posted on the results for Monday!

OKAY - so in the middle of the torrential downpour we had on Friday night -we bought our very first HPT and it was actually a negative. However, I'm still haivng the cramp a little bit - so we're going to try it again later on this week - unless AF comes first that is!
Funny story about buying the HPT though, The lady who rang us up as much older (late 60's) and she must have thought I was 15 or something bc when she saw what we were buying, she gave me such a nasty look!! I was actually a little insulted at first - who the hell is she to judge me for what I'm buying? And I just get annoyed when people assume I'm way younger than I am and give me attitude about it. So then I just made a point of resting my hands on the counter and flashing my wedding ring - like 'yeah b!tch, we're MARRIED' I just hate that because we look young, people assume we're just kids and give us nasty looks. Some people are so rude!

Awe! I hate people like that! I hope though that it was a false positive... I tested a few days before I was due and got a positive, but I was all crampy and had a headache too... Keep us posted!!!!

yet another update I'm still having the cramps so I actually stayed home yesterday because I was um, er, sick, yeah that's it Anyhoo, I was going to wait until Friday to test again, but last night I was so wound up thinking about it that I just couldn't take it anymore and retested! Well, It was a negative, and I think it's safe to say that I'm definitly not preggo. Just wanted to share since you've all been so helpful with your advice!
