Spinoff to DJ Lights: Will you have your DJ do giveaways?

My DJ threw in a giveaway package that includes foam hands, gangster hats, blue glasses, inflatable guitars, tambourines, maracas, and microphones. I'm totally against it, but I've heard that a lot of people have fun w/ that. What are your thoughts girls?
Do you think it's tacky? We won't have any young kids except the FG.

no, the giveaways added like $500 to the package....and for my sisters wedding, my brother went to cedarhurst paper and bought the stuff himself....it was less money that way

No, I don't want it to feel like a Sweet 16 or something of that nature. I don't want any props in my pictures. It's just not the feel I want for my wedding day.

I agree 100%! Some people are into that, but I think its TACKY! Your wedding is the one day of your whole life where you really get to be classy and elegant, last time I checked, plastic leis, and maracas were less than classy

IMO, I think giveaways add to the 'cheese' factor which I hate. But do what you want, it is your day

That's what I was thinking!!! But the way the DJ just threw them in made me think that he probably has a lot of brides who want them! So I felt like I was being all high and mighty or something when I was like 'do I really want to see those things in my pics?' But now I know I'm not!!! Thanks girls!

Nope, FI would flip out. The only way I convinced him to get a DJ was to promise no favors and no intrusive MC.

We are!! Our DJ suggested we only get like 3 things, but we'll prob order them from Oriental Trading to get them for a better price. We're having a few kids and I know a few of our older guests will expect it too. They're good to get people on the dance floor, I don't think it's going to take anything away from the elegance.

WOW!!! you guys are very harsh when it comes to this topic.....

i will have give aways @ my wedding....the only thing that i LOATH is blow-up stuff.....like blow-up saxaphones, and guitars....

i think they are cute - and by the time they are handing them out the real 'dance' music is playing (or @ least @ my wedding it will)

i will not be worried about elegance when i have 50 cent and reggatone being played by the dj....
