Spinoff to DJ Lights: Will you have your DJ do giveaways?

My DJ threw in a giveaway package that includes foam hands, gangster hats, blue glasses, inflatable guitars, tambourines, maracas, and microphones. I'm totally against it, but I've heard that a lot of people have fun w/ that. What are your thoughts girls?
Do you think it's tacky? We won't have any young kids except the FG.

We will have them. I don't find it that cheesy, but to each person their own.

We have a good number of kids and young teens attending with their parents so they'll enjoy it. I'm in my 20's and I still grab glow necklaces and giveaways at other weddings when I'm out on the dancefloor.

One of my cousins had her DJ do giveaways. There were a bunch of kids at the wedding so they loved it.

I don't think it's tacky. If you want it... go for it.

WOW!!! you guys are very harsh when it comes to this topic.....

i will have give aways @ my wedding....the only thing that i LOATH is blow-up stuff.....like blow-up saxaphones, and guitars....

i think they are cute - and by the time they are handing them out the real 'dance' music is playing (or @ least @ my wedding it will)

i will not be worried about elegance when i have 50 cent and reggatone being played by the dj....

absolutely right, i agree, i don't think its cheesy at all, i think all of our drunk friends will have fun with it, after all i am not worried about elegance, i am more concerned with everyone acting silly , drinkin and having fun with it.
i am having no blow up things, just maybe some beachy items, since its a beach theme!

Everyone should remember....the reception is a big ol party. The sooner you realize that, the better.

That being said, Fh and I were not into giveaways. I can count on one hand how many people we will have that will be under 25. So considering that, we didn't see the point of having the throwaways as we call them.

Sorry if I sounded harsh before! It is just not my thing at all. I have a big party family, there is atleast two big parties a month for us, and I just dont feel its appropriate for what we are doing. If you are going for a party vibe, and getting wild on the dance floor, and it fits in with your theme more power to you! Have fun with it, I have been to weddings that have had them, and everyone had a good time. We are a young couple, most people would expect it of us, all of our friends are under 25, even our parents are under 50, but just not for us.

dollar dance is when guests line up and pay $$ yo dance with the bride...i think its a mid-west thing
