OMG reading these posts makes me realize why I can never live in NY again.I left 5 years ago and never looked back.
DH and I pay approx $1500 per month including taxes (our taxes are less than 1% of our property value).
We live in CO and love it here! We have brand new 2500 sq foot house with a beatiful view of the rockies. We fly back to NY often with all the money we save

I give you all credit. I dont know how you do it. DH and I make a very good living between us and I still couldn't imagine those prices.

We're just starting the househunting process and all these numbers are petrifying me!
I wish I could get FI to move now!

I have never been to CO, but have always wanted to visit.
How did you end up CO?
I always have in the back of my mind that we could sell our house and move somewhere else and have a really nice house with a small mortgage.
