so ive been wondering about this-do you have to report the money you get in gifts for your wedding to the irs with your taxes?

Most likely...no. The rule is that each person is allowed to give you a gift up to a certain amount that is non-taxable. I think it's something like $10,000...it changes every year. I hated tax law in college...hope this helps a little.

I would hope not...because then I would want to write my wedding off as an expense. And since the wedding is going to be alot more than I will make...they are better off me not reporting the gifts!!
