Not at all. Mine is my mothers original setting, and the the only change is the size and shape of the diamond.

I agree, Lord knows my FH broke his arse to give me mine, Its it tremendous, no , but it works for me, & Ive waited all my life to get married , why not show it off.. I dont think thats sad at all. there are plenty of threads on here about showing off our rings, are we all sad for doing that..

I guess just curiosity... and something to talk about.
My ring is not huge but its unique and i love it more cuz Fh worked so hard to get it and design it. so ofcourse im gonna show off his hard work. Its like when someone says ' oh can i see ur ring?' uhear the answer ' sure let me lug up my carats'
We are all brides oneer and we talk about all wedding related. The ring, the bands, the weddingjewlery is all wedding related and being girls that like pretty things we like to post pics and share

I agree,, Why bot show off what u have ,, I dont thing anyone here said , OH look at my huge ring.. No one has the cuth to do that. To some a 2 carat may be small & to some it may be huge,, really doenst matter .. They worked hard for it, we put up with em, why now show it off ,,

If it was between being with him or not being with him and it all came down to a ring of course it wouldn't matter at all. But he wanted to give me something that was really spectacular and something that was so beautiful, timeless and flawless that I could really treasure it forever AND pass it on to our daughter... So that meant a lot to us and we went for quality and a nice size. Plus, we had such a long Engagement that he was able to take his time in saving for it. If I was really obsessed with size (technically) he could still be saving and I would have a six carat ring or something lol but after about 7 months of saving I was like Alright, enough already! I want the ring! haha!

All I have to say is ....to each their own.

I am part of the 'if you got it flaunt it' group.

But I also believe you can flaunt, but flaunt with couth and elegance. Not with pompousness and obnoxiousness(is that even a word)

The smile on your face, the happiness in your heart, is what makes you sparkle, not the diamond.

But the diamond does help!
