As I was looking at the other thread, I noticed that a bunch of girls that aren't getting married until 08 and 09 answered. My first thought was about how much my original budget changed.
So, for all of the already married ladies, or brides that are less than 6 months away, how much did your budget inflate?
Ours went up by 60% from our original plan to what our actual costs are.

Mm it went up ALOT! LOL. We wanted to try for 10,000 dollars but it went up to 15,000 because the hall alone was about 7,000. But our parents shipped in alot and my mom bought my dress and veil for me so that helped shave off about 1,200 dollars altogether and my MOh bought my headpiece.

Definitely. We had to increase our budget by almost 10K. We had no idea how much some things would cost when we created our first budget. Can you say, sticker-shock?

PeteysBride and I are on the same wavelength again....
our utopian budget was $10k (for about 65 guests and a sat afternoon / june wedding), and was pitched out the window as soon as we realized photography was 3.5k
Then, there were a few splurges... but we kept it to a minimum. We're at about $20k for everything (except the HM... that's an added 4.5k.. and worth EVERY DIME!)

We didn't have total budget, rather I decided how much $ I would spend on each thing, and we stayed with that for every vendor, except for the DJ, which we went over by a bit.

Our original budget was also 10K, and like PortJeffBride, once we booked the photographer, I realized that was a pipe dream. We are at about 17K now. Our final costs really depends on how many 'yes-s' we get.

We had to increase our budget by 10-15 thousand...we just didn't know how much money certain things can cost
