Spinoff to 'I need some hugs'

This is to respond to all the post about why it wasnt right that I didnt invite her husband.

This woman went back and forth between guys (her husband and another guy who shes known since she was 15yrs old) at the time she was seperated from her husband (but still married) and began seeing the other guy. Things were supposedly going well so she asked me if I could invite her new 'bf'...I said fine. I find out about 2mths ago that he wont be able to attend the wedding, so Im like, ok, fine. about 3-4 weeks ago she emails me and write...add my plate 'with a date'...Im like, 'who could this date be?' shes alone. My FH talks to her and it turns out that shes back with her husband...heres a little background on this guy.

After 7yrs of being together he just recently started working about 1yr ago. Hes not disabled or anything JUST LAZY!
-He eats all the food in their house (hes about 400lbs) and doesnt refill the fridge.
-He fights with FSIL EVERY night!
-He curses out her family and friends and is trying to seperate her completely from the family.
There is more, but thats it in a nut shell.
Anyway, the reason why he wasnt originally invited was because it would of caused LOTS of tension and arguments between him and my in-laws on my wedding day. AND I REFUSE TO HAVE MY WEDDING DAY RUINED BY AN IDIOT!

Anyway, I hope this answers all of the questions posted in the last post about it not being right and that I should of invited him anyway. I honestly do not think I am obligated to invite a jerk when she originally didnt even want him there.....

Millie, I personally do not think you need to justify your decision not to invite him. When I read your original post, I just naturally assumed that you had very good reasons not to invite him.

Thank you girls. I just want people to truly understand why he wasnt originally invited. I really do not want to start an argument with any of the other girls...I just want them to understand. I know proper ediquette states we should invite a wife with her husband and vice versa..but I do believe in exceptions..

I agree! You don't have to explain yourself to anyone.

PS I would not have invited him either

this is a very tough situation, and you are right, i personally did not know the whole story before replying to your original post. for that i am sorry i do believe wives should be invited with their husbands and vice versa, even if people don't like one or the other... but yours is obviously a very different situation and i am sorry you have to deal with this now!

Never feel you have to explain yourself to us when it comes to who you are inviting to your wedding. That is your decision to make and yours only.

If you feel that by not inviting someone you are preserving the integrity and emotional balance of your special day by all means don't invite that person.

I totally agree with you. I would not have invited him either. But now, with the wedding two days away- let FSIL bring whomever she pleases and focus on the happiness of the biggest day of your life. I am sure you won't even notice his presence! Take a bunch of deep breaths and try your best to relax!! You're getting married Millie!! And you are going to be a gorgeous bride! I know we all cannot wait to see pics of you, Gorgeous!

I did not realize it would casuse tension with your in-laws. I guess p*ssing off the FSIL is better than making them mad...

I agree with the pp who says F*ck it! It's your wedding! Enjoy yourself!

No need to justify why you don't want someone at your wedding. Try to relax and enjoy.
