So besides money, do any of you girls stress about where your life is headed..I've been stressing recently about where my life has been going..i feel like a failure sometimes, which fh says is ridiculous..but i can't feel any different..there are soo many things i want to do..like go back to school for nursing or a masters in something and then get a better paying job..I feel like with the wedding and getting older it seems so hopeless..I have a bachelors degree when i graduated in 2004..but have been out of school since..this has been bothering me for days and I'm trying to move along with getting back into school..but it seems so hard with the wedding..do any of you feel this way?

Re: Spinoff to Jess's money post
It is very hard to go back to school once you are done for any length of time, but if it is what you truely want then you should do it.
The one thing keeping me grounded through this entire wedding process is that I have an amazing job that I will never lose. I make more money every year that I am there and I love what I do. You can't beat that feeling, so I say follow your dreams and in the long run you will be happier

Don't be discouraged. I have been in school since I was 18. Went for my bachelors, then straight for my masters and now I do inservice credits to move up the pay scale. After a while you get used to it. It is just starting that is the hard part. Make an apt. with a counselor at a school and discuss your options. You might feel better after that

I think that everyone goes through this at some time or another, feeling this way. My advice is to just stay positive and take risks. Life is full of ups and downs and how you handle them will help you to be successful!
PS- Enjoy this time, planning your wedding.. and accept that sometimes it's OK to just 'BE'.

Yes, you need an apt. with an admissions counselor. Try and find a school that offers the program you want and just call and tell them you are interested and they will set something up so someone can talk to you and explain everything to you

Re: Spinoff to Jess's money post
I stress out about everything too, including career stuff. I decided to go straight from college to law school, and while I think I can like being a lawyer I don't really know if it's *the* job for me -- I feel like there's lots of other stuff I could like and be good at too. And law school is a pain and stressful since there's so much pressure on one exam deciding your entire grade, and it being on a curve.
I'm very lucky that I'm at a great law school on a full scholarship and I have 'great' job options lined up, but I can't help but have doubts about whether I put enough thought into it before going to law school. I'll do the big firm thing for a little while after graduation, but then who knows.
I also stress a lot about where to work, because your job after 2nd year makes you an offer for after graduation so when deciding where to work that summer, you are basically deciding your real job! Annnnnd... I don't know what city I want to be in after law school. (the city I am in now, or move back to NY). I dragged out my decision to the last minute, and decided to split my summer between a firm here and a firm in NYC, but it means I have to make the big decision this summer now, and it also means 6 weeks away from FH.
I get really scared too, because if I move from one state to another down the road it means taking at least 1 other bar exam....
Ugh I'm so sick of being in school!

I recently hit the top of the pay scale (for my # of years) and I still feel like it's not enough (NYC teacher) and I feel like I'm stuck. I invested so many years and so much time into this career I feel like I can never leave it.

yes! I don't know where my life will be in a few years. Do i keep my teaching job, do I look somewhere else (it's impossible to find one), where will we move? Ugh!!!
