homemade, hands down. Stovetop is ok when your pressed for time and it tastes great but it's nothing compared to home made stuffing. yum

eta: my mom is the laziest cook in the history of cooks, I didn't even know there was real stuffing until I went to college. Same for mashed potatoes, I thought everything was instant.

hahaha

a coworkers kids friend was over her house for dinner (mahsed potatoes and steak)and the little girl asked how she was making mashed potatoes and where was the box..lol

poor kid, never knew..lol

yup, that was me! I think that's why I cook/bake all the time. I'm traumatized from my childhood.

are you ready for this?
when i was 21 years old, i was at FH's house and his mom asked if i wanted to eat over. I asked what she was making and she said Lasagna. I said yea sure thanks. Well then she proceeded to take noodles out and make sauce and stuff and i was like
'i thought you were making lasagna?'
and she said 'I AM'
I said...'so what's with all the cooking?'
she said 'well, I have to MAKE it so you can eat it right?'
My response 'PEOPLE ACTUALLY MAKE LASAGNA?!?!!'
'HOW?!'

I was 21 years old and i was convinced that all 'normal' families ate frozen lasagna. i didn't know it was something you could just make at home.

thats like my ex, i go to cook dinner and i start peeling potatoes and hes like what are you doing with that and i said im making mashed potatoes i do have to peel them first and hes like OMG NO just make the instant, his mom ONLY made instant and he was even weird about me making them from scratch and was asking for the boxed mashed potatoes lol

and FH is the opposite, he will NEVER eat sauce out of a jar, he grew up on ONLY homemade sauce and refuses to eat anything else lol, im like ok guess i gotta learn how to make your mothers sauce

I make lasagna from 'scratch' (store-bought noodles, cheese, sauce) and FH loves it. It's actually really easy to make.

I prefer the taste of matzoh ball soup from a mix (compared to that made from scratch). I used to love potato latkes from scratch when my grandma used to make them but the ones from a box are so good too! I won't eat the pre-made ones they sell in the supermarket.

I'm trying to think of what else I prefer from a mix instead of from scratch hahaha

FH and i were talking about the box potatoe thing last night

its not THAT hard to make real. If you use the red potatoes- you dont even need to peel them..use the small red ones and you dont have to cut them..lol

idk- maybe its cuz my family always made real.

i have a childhood friend whos grandparents are right off the boat and she preferred prego jarred. Her family thought she was nuts. I'll use it if I have nothng else, but prefer homemade sauce too.

I love my family stuffing. It consists of cubes of bread, eggs, milk, celery, salt/pepper, and sometimes, gag, Mom would put oysters in, which actually tasted good, as long as I didn't see them beforehand. Nowdays, I use Stovetop, because I'm lazy!! Mary MOB

That's hysterical! That is what I felt like in college. My roommate was an excellent cook and I'd sit in the kichen and watch her because I was amazed that people actually did these things to make dinner. Now when I cook FH watches me! Honestly, I didn't know that a square meal was until I went to college, I felt so deprived.
