Spinoff to recipe thread... 'Must have' kitchen appliances?

Sorry to go all domestic on your @sses.. but the subject of 'Mini Preps' came up in the recipe thread as a 'must have' kitchen appliance.

I want to go register soon and I never really thought about these things..and don't have much more than a blender.

What else should we be registering for to complete the perfect kitchen.
