Spinoff to silk wraps question

What kind of manicure can I get that will give some substance to my weak nails, but won't ruin them? It seems like all the options out there (acrylic, silk wraps) eventually ruin the nails underneath.

Go to Ulta, and in their pro-nail aisle they have a bunch of lines that make natural nail builders. One of them, I think it's called Nailteq or something (its in a white box w/ blue and orange on it) is really good stuff. Since you have time, get them healthy (take Vit E to get them to grow strong), and then when you get a mani for your day, they'll look great! Moisturize a lot too, and put nail oil on them every night, around the cuticles. HTH

Nailtek is pretty good. Personally I prefer Nailtiques (I think Nailtek is a knockoff b/c the boxes look very similar). The Nailtiques is a little more expensive but definitely works wonders to help nails recover from wraps, etc.

Def take vitamins and moisure your cuticles.

I used Sally Hansen, (it is pink, not sure the name) applied a coat every day for 5-6 days then started over again. Also only file your nails in one direction. I find when I get manicures, my nails break afterwards because they file in both directions.

Does it get all nasty after wearing if for a few days? Because I thought I liked OPI nail envy, but my nails are still peeling and the polish gets gross after a few days. Plus when I take it off my nails are sooo dry...

I used Nailtek because my nails started cracking and chipping at the corners. It helped a lot.

Re: Spinoff to silk wraps question

I just got my nail license-not that that matters, but I do it on the weekends. Ok, so when I was in school, my nails went to S*#@ because I kept having to put acrylic on, take it off, put on tips, put on wraps, etc. My nails were so unbelieveably weak...I could barely open a soda can. So, I went into the beauty supply store (I haven't seen it sold anywhere else-only ACE Beauty or Royal-and they are not open to the public-let me know if you want it and I will buy it and send it to you unless you know someone who can get it for you. Its like $7.50/bottle) Its by Nail Tek (do not use nailtique-it yellows the nails). Its called Hydration Therapy. There are different ones you can get, depending on the problem you are having with your nails. I moved onto the strong healthy nails because my nails look great now. But they have one for weak nails, soft peeling nails, dry brittle nails....they work so great you will be shocked. Its just a clear polish that you put on your nails. I put 3-4 coats on a week and then take it off. But it makes them so strong. My nails started to grow and its amazing-people think they are fake. Here is a picture of them (along with my ring).I just have a pink nail polish on-but it always looks like I have a french manicure because it makes them look soo good-I swear the stuff is magic. I have gotten soo many bottles for my friends and family. It works on everyones nails! Let me know what you think......
