Are hair and makeup people supposed to charge tax?? I really feel ripped off by my stylists that day.

see, I don't think they were supposed to charge tax being that it is a service...I just threw out a receipt from a recent haircut yesterday (not the same people)...I forgot to look if had tax...

I didn't get charged tax...but then again who knows, she just told me the price and I paid it...so I could have paid tax and just didn't realize it.

Yes, hair/makeup - any service or product provider is responsible for charging tax.
However, how they display it is what varies: 1. They can charge a flat rate where tax is already included and not itemized. or 2. They itemize the tax amount.
