SPINOFF TO THAT GAG GIFT BOOK

SPINOFF TO THAT GAG GIFT BOOK

just got into a reallllllllllllllly heated debate on cleaning.. like my coworker and i are silent.. like awkward silence lol

she said cleaning is a mans job . he shoudl clean bathroom and do dishes. i disagree..

cleanign is a womans job, but a man shoudl help only if the woman works. if u are a housewife.. u TEND TO THE HOUSE.

just cuz u get ur husband to clean, doesnt mean its HIS JOB.

thoughts?

Completely agree...not to mention, FH's idea of clean isn't exactly my idea of clean, lol

i think cleaning is neither the man or woman's job ... if one person doesn't work though, then i agree with you that that person (guy or girl) should do 100% of the cleaning.

If both man and woman work, both should clean.

when did cleaning become a mans job??? if your a stay at home wifey clean the damn house! If you both work I think the woman usually does most and the men help out, thats what I see happeneing anyways

I clean, he takes out garbage and does the manly stuff.

When we get bigger place I told him housekeeper once a month for deep cleaning is mandatory.

He agreed

He just doesn't clean like me. I just think women do it better.

i disagree... i dont think its either ones work... like a womans work or mans work... theres no reason why both cant do it... at least thats how it was in my house...

Well I don't understand housewives who don't clean/take care of the kids, etc. but instead hire people to do it - mostly b/c I don't understand what they do all day. BUT.... if both people work, then both people should help clean. That being said, I usually have to supervise FH's cleaning, or just do it myself b/c as a PP said, my idea of clean and his idea of clean are two different things.

I honestly think its both of ours job. If we are both working full time we should split the chores.

By Housewife, you mean a wife who doesn't work outside the home? Then definitely she should clean, but this doesn't give the husband license to be a slob. He should still clean up after himself, like he *hopefully* did before he got engaged and after his mommy stopped cleaning up after him (if she has!).

If we both work, get on your hands and knees, boy, and scrub that bathroom floor!

I agree with this.

However, in MY house....we both work and cleaning is MY job. I don't trust FH to clean....he doesn't do it good enough

We both work so we are both equally responsible. But I agree whoever stays home is the person in charge of cleaning whether it be the man or the woman.

I think it's no1's JOB.. per say.. I think it's something everyone has to do (although my FH def does it WAY more then I do lol.. but he works from home!)

I think no matter who does more of the cleaning, you should still clean up after yourself... as in, don't just toss your clothes on the floor for the other person to pick up off the floor. Don't leave things a horrible mess just because.

Honestly, I feel the same way. If he cleans, I usually go back and clean it again anyway, but that doesn't mean I want him to stop trying!

i think its a matter of how it works for you in your own home, and more often that ends up being the woman's job!
We pretty much go with the rule of he does outside stuff, garbage and usually the dishes since i do all the cooking.
i do the other cleaning cause i would have to do it again if he does it. Although since there is more inside work than outside work, he does help out when I can't get it all done!

PS My DH cooks...the least I can do is clean. That's why when the house it put back together in about 3 or 4 months we will be hiring a cleaning lady every two weeks.

Oh thanks for the laugh Barb, I needed it.

Agreed!! That's FH's huge issue- laundry on the floor- not just in the bedroom or the bathroom, but ALL OVER THE HOUSE. It drives me insane. That's why I registered for like 6 hampers.
