Alot of you mentioned yesterday that you were going to pay for parts of the wedding by credit card and then pay it off right after. We wanted to do that to, but we have found that mostly all our vendors have to be paid by cash or check. Just out of curiousity, can you girls tell me what you were able to charge as far as vendors or other wedding costs?

So far Photo/Video and DJ we can do via credit card.
For Photo/Video I used a balance transfer check so that it could remain at 0% interest.
We were also able to use credit card for limo deposit but not for the rest.

we didnt pay any of our vendors by CC. I used my debit card at least once but that money comes right out of my bank account so doesn't count. Oh wait FH did put a $500 deposit on his card for the cake, but we put money in the bank for that $500 and he already paid it off. We just went to the appointment with no cash or checks by accident
but as far as which vendors take cc's hmmmm, quite a few didnt but i know limo's would've taken it, i used debit for that. Flowers would've taken it but i paid in cash. But there were a few that dont take cc's

Thanks Maybe thats why im having such issues. I have a band that i have to pay cash and my photographer has to be paid cash or check too!

Im pretty sure we are going to be able to cover everything with cash but just wanted to see if there is anyone that would take charge- i think the limo company might be it. thanks!!

our photographer takes credit cards but thats it. We havent used credit cards either...except for honeymoon i think. some people i know wrote checks against their credit card though which is how you can use a cc to pay some things off.

We paid cash for most because they wont charge you tax. The only one we paid by cc was the limos b/c we wanted the AA miles and the depost for my wedding band. But we paid it all of in cash right after.

so far we've paid all our deposits by credit card and just paid it off right after, it was recommended to do this by several books on wedding planning that I read- cause god forbid they go out of business, the credit card will help you fight & get money back
All of these are being paid for by credit card..some are a portion that will accept credit card and some want cash day of. So we will pay all 'not day of' on credit cards.
