Hot mushroom turnovers:

1 8oz. package of cream cheese
flour
butter, softened
1/2 pounds mushrooms (portabella are the best)
1 onion, minced
1/4 cup sour cream
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. thyme
1 egg, beaten

1. combine cream cheese, 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 cup butter, shape dough into ball and put in fridge for 1 hour

2. melt 3 tbsp. butter, cook mushrooms and onions until tender. Stir in sour cream, salt, thyme and 2 tsp. flour.

3. on a floured surface, roll out dough very thin, use a round cookie cutter to make pastries
fill one half with mushroom mixture. Fold in half, so pastry is sealed in 1/2 moon shape. with fork, firmly press down edges and lightly brush with egg.

4. cook about 12 minutes in 450% oven.

**it's a little messy, but very tasty and easer than it sounds to prepare!

artichoke pie...quick, easy, and so good.

1frozen pie shell
1 stick of pepperoni cut into very small pieces
1 pkg. frozen artichoke hearts minces
6 eggs
1/2 cup grated Romano cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella

1. Preheat oven to 350
2. Scramble eggs in a mixing bowl add remaining ingredients to the bowl and mix thoroughly
3. Put mixture into the pie shell and cook, uncovered for 45 min. or until a knife goes through the center of the pie and comes out clean.

This is best served warm and even better reheated as leftovers!

omg thats a staple in my family

SUPER EASY STROMBOLI

1can of Pillsbury pizza dough
1/4 lb Genoa Salami
!/4 lb Ham Cappy
1/4 lb Pepperoni
1/4 lb Provelone Cheese
2 Table Spoons olive Oil
1teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and pepper to taste

Cut the pizza dough into 4 equal parts. It comes rectangle shape, so slice down and across. Flour the dough if need be, but I didn't have to. Layer your coldcuts and cheese. Then roll on an angle, so the center is the thickest part. Drizzle all the stromboli with the olive oil and then rub it in. Mix all the dry ingredients together, and slather on your roll ups. ( The olive Oil helps it stick). Bake in a 350 Degree oven until lightly golden brown. Enjoy!!

I do have a big one... but I NEVER use it. It has too many parts and it takes me forever to get it together and take it apart... and then I have to clean it and put it away. It is too big to keep on my counter for easy access.

I have 2 little boys so I RARELY make a huge gourmet meal that requires me to pull out the big guns!

oh... and werock? THANKS! I am now CRAVING stromboli... made the salad I am eating for lunch seem so... inadequate...

This is going to sound totally dorky, but being that Ive never owned either, would it make sense for me to start with a mini-prep and then if I really like it and use it alot splurge someday on a bigger one? Or are they truly two different tools?
