Spitz and Peck Florist

Spitz and Peck Florist

Is anyone using them or know someone who has used them? I'm getting married at the Waters Edge in September and they are contracted with them so I have no choice. How much can I expect to pay for simple centerpieces for a 75 person wedding and BoK for me and two bridesmaids? I'm clueless and have to know so I can budget accordingly. Help!

well its hard to tell, all cp's dont cost the same and neither do bok's. Do you have any idea what type of flowers you want for cp's and whether you want high or low cp's? the type of flower you pick is what will drastically change the price per cp. Roses are a good choice bc they are less expensive and look real nice. Some flowers tend to be a bit more expensive and if a flower is not in season then that also will make it cost more bc its harder to get. But if youre having 75 guests then you wont have that many cp's so that will help with price

If you tell us the type of flowers then its easier to give you an estimate. Not 100% sure but from what i know spitz and speck do cost a little more than some other florists

I hate to tell you this but I went to a bar mitsva(spelling??) about a year ago and they extended the cocktail hour about a half hour bc the flowers and centerpieces didnt show up yet. The RH couldnt stall anymore and we all entered into the room without anything on the tables. finally during the candle lighting ceremony they showed up with the flowers and interupted the whole ceremony by walking into the room during the speeches and placing the huge centerpieces on the tables it was a mess, some of them werent staying up and it was so distracting!!! I found out later on that they 'forgot' Im not really sure how they can use that as an explination but I know the host was not happy at all!! Other then that the flowers were very nice, but I wouldnt use them bc of that one experience. If your RH uses them then Im sure they havent had any bad experiences with them. Sorry if this makes you nervous

she doesn't have a choice, through her RH they have a policy where you can ONLY hire that florist...a few of them have this.

S*cks that happened WOW, hopefully it was an isolated situation.

I don't understand how and why places tell you what florist you can use? What's that about?

Well I would like to use some peach and light yellow roses with cala lillies and blue hydrangea for my BoK and for the girls. Small and low cps maybe somehow including candles. The place is so beautiful it doesn't need lots of flowers.

well roses are good bc they cost less, calla's are a bit expensive but you're using it in a bok so it should be fine and same for hydrangea. I would say your bok will be in the $200's which is average price for brides bok

Well typically this is what ive seen

$50-100 for low cps(price depending on what type of flower)

$125-200 for high cp's, again this depends on the flower...it can get even more expensive than $200 a cp but most ppl dont go over that

good luck and just remember you can always tell them what your budget is and they can work with that and tell you what your options are...you tell them what your ideas are and they'll tell you if they can do it with your budget or if its too much they'll usually tell you what you can substitue it with that is similar

Another problem I have is I really don't know what to budget for the flowers. I would like to spend under a thousand but it that possible? I would rather spend it on the DJ and photographer!

im using them i have half high and half low centerpieces for between 150-200 people for 3,000...if u get low centerpieces and a cheaper flower u might be able to get it under 1000 since u only have 75 people

can i ask what you paid for water's edge?
i'm going there next saturday but i would love to know before i went ... or do you know the minimum price for off season...on a sunday or friday?

Re: Spitz and Peck Florist

I am using them as well,( I had to choose between spitz or stephens as well)

and if you tell them what type of flowers you are looking for and then your budget , they will work with you .
