Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
I met with Maddie from Spitz and Peck, she's so nice! but their flowers are VERY pricey... S&P and Stephan's are required florists from my RH though...

Me too, same place, the Royalton. Did you decide which you are going with?

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
I am getting married at The Royalton in September. We went with Spitz & Peck (since we live and work in the city, we met with Gary at their Manhattan location).I think the advantage of using the preferred florists is that they really know the site. Gary has personally done 6 weddings at The Royalton since it's been remodeled, and he's very familiar with the layout and how to maximize the beauty of the space.
Candidly, my fiance and I do not care that much about the flowers, and we wanted to keep our budget down in that area. We told Gary our budget, and he said he can work with that (and decorate EVERYTHING, which we may not even want). But the point is, make your budget, and be up front with the florist about what it is. Even a very pricey florist should be able to accommodate you.
Also, if you find a cheaper florist who can give you a lot more for your money, why not just do it and pay for the extra $1500 bond? That's always an option.
Good luck!

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
we are using Spitz & Peck of Huntington, first off their sooo nice and flowers were one of the most important things to me, so we paid a litte more then we planned, but I have total faith that Spitz & Peck will be great :) I am having a meeting with them next Friday!

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
Between S & P and Stefans, we booked Stefans. Feel free to FM me if you want more details, but we just got a much better vibe from the person we met with at Stefans.

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
Yeah for the Royalton! I haven't decided yet who to use. I'm going to go back with my mom because I didn't ask all the right questions I guess. I plan on going to Stefan's also and seeing if they'll beat the price and then bring their offer back to S&P, just because Maddie was such a nice person. I basically told them my budget and saw what they could do. kinda bummed though that I have to get low centerpieces but whatever...

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
I need some help with what a budget should be for flowers. I don't want to go crazy yet want it to look nice. I love the Royalton but having to use those florist only makes it more difficult for those on a tighter budget. Please help. Thanks

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
Both of these florists were able to work within my budget (Im getting married at the Royalton). Actually, I didnt even give them a budget, I just told them exactly what I wanted and it fell into my budget. Actually both of their quotes were exactly the same as a comparison quote I got from Burtons and I was getting more stuff from Stefans and Spitz and Peck. I was surprised because I was preparing for the worst after hearing what was posted on here, but in reality their prices are comparable to other florists. I was pleasantly surpised. FM me if you want more details and prices--I could tell you what I am getting and for what price. Good Luck!!

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
STEFAN'S......Josh was the sweetest absolute New Yorker I've ever met!!! (By that I mean since I am from the south, imagine those scenes in My Cousin Vinny anytime they spoke and sounded soooooo out of place because everyone around them was southern...) Even with that 'tough' NY thing going on, he was helpful and creative....I am VERY satisfied with my choice thus far!!! His ideas for our bo-ks and my ideas were almost identical!!!
and we are paying very little for a lot!!!!

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
My RH requires us to us S&P. I also met with Maddie and she was the best. I didn't want to spend alot on flowers and I told her my budget and she totally worked with me on it. I'm getting what I want and for a price I can afford. I agree with the above poster thogh- def tell them your budget when you met with them, then they'll work with you on what flowers you can get.good luck!

Hey! I am getting married a week before you at the Royalton. We also went with Spitz and Peck. Brian saw my vision completely and had so many great ideas. He kind of took the words right out of my mouth and knew every detail about the room.

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
met with SP and was NOT IMPERESSED (met the owner) seemed more like car salesman who hit on an older woman i brought with me (moms friend). Such a strange expierence and then wouldnt give us a direct quote but told us :'what do u think it is worth'? STRANGE!

Re: Spitz & Peck or Stephans
I would like to thank Bob Holland and his staff at Spitz and Peck. Thank you so much for the design and creation and the look for our wedding.
The centerpieces were gorgeous - people kept saying how creative and unique they were, and how interesting it was to alternate centerpieces.
The chupah was beautiful, simple and elegant as we wanted. Everything came together and the room looked perfect.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
love,
ally lipton (now ally stone)
My family and I will recommend Spitz and Peck to everyone.
