I was thinking the same thing - she's a 'high class' call girl.

From what I read she had a really hard childhood and has bounced all over the place doing different things. Her myspace said she had been broke, homeless, on drugs, etc.

I wonder what she must be thinking. Is it something that she kind of 'fell' into. I did look at all of her myspace and there are some nasty things left on her blog. That is awful

The NY Times are the ones who broke the news yesterday evening. New York Times link

They took this from her myspace page:

She left “a broken family” at age 17, having been abused, according to the MySpace page, and has used drugs, “been broke and homeless.”

“Learned what it was like to have everything and lose it, again and again,” she wrote. “Learned what it was like to wake up one day and have the people you care about most gone.

“But I made it,” she continues. “I’m still here and I love who I am. If I never went through the hard times, I would not be able to appreciate the good ones. Cliché, yes, but I know it’s true.”

Also, 'Ms. Dupre said on by telephone Tuesday night that she was worried about how she would pay her rent since the man she was living with “walked out on me” after she discovered he had fathered two children.'

you know what i kinda have to disagree!

yes it is spitzers fault he is a dumb@$$ and he was doing something illegal and he got caught and should suffer the consequences. BUT so should she. She was prostituting herself. That is illegal!!!!!! And I think her having a hard life is just a cop out. I mean I learned alot about personalities and what type of people from certain backgrounds get into certain situations from studying psych in undergrad. BUT that doesnt mean she had to go out and put herself out there to have sex with men for $1000 a night. AND I do NOT feel bad for her that she will lose her apt that she is scared of losing since she can't pay rent. Well maybe if she was a decent girl she could have gotten a decent job working legally and be able to make some good of herself. Please there are people who are suffering every day with struggles in their lives and they dont go out and prostitute themselves or deal drugs (some do yes but its about fighting that and getting past that)

ok haha now that i went into my own little saga about that....i think spitzers resiging is ALL his fault but just as he is getting punished she should too- IMO!!!

that is what shocked me most about this story its like ok he cheated, he is corrupt blah blah blah no surpprise but $5500 an hour what do these girls do for that.
