is anybody splurging on anything that you know is a ridiculous amountof money, but you really want to do it anyway...

even though it will put you way over budget

i really want to splurge on...my video...yup my video

i am weird...growing up i never imagined my dress, i imagined my video... and the one i want is a crazy stupid price...because its a video... but i want it SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO bad!!

should i just do it anyway and pray i dont go bankrupt? say yes!!

I think its normal to have that 1 thing that really means alot to you... Is it going to be one of those that completely looks like its own movie? Ive seen those before and was blown away!

I feel like I'm splurging on everything lolz, everything is so pricey when it comes to weddings!! I never thought I'd be spending 3500+ for pictures, and somehow justifying it!!!!!!

Re: splurges

I guess it depends on what your spending on your other vendors & how much you can afford to go over budget? Most of these Video/photo guys do an awesome job. So maybe look around see if you like some of what you see & then make the decision.

I think my whole wedding is a splurge!
If you want that amazing video then you should go for it. You just might have to scale back on other things to work within your budget

same here!

Although I think my biggest things that I am spending a lot on are video and the string quartet. I probably could do without the strings but I love them!

pictures

our photography is 1/3 the cost of the RH. we opted out of professional video to make room in the budget. i don't regret it for a second.

I say go for it. It's your special day and you want to remember it forever. Doooo it!!

Re: splurges

the RH was a bit of a splurge, but we got a lower minimum so maybe not a splurge really.

The REAL splurge is our HM. We are doing two locations in Thailand, the first we have our own villa with a private pool on the beach, and the second we are staying at a fancy hotel on a river. We both love to travel, so we realized we would rather do a smaller, cheaper wedding and take an amazing trip. The air and hotel rooms alone are costing the same as the RH and all catering!

We're spluring on the band. We feel that is what makes the party. Probably paying twice the amound of what local bands go for but if everyone is up and dancing, it will be worth it.

You only live once if you can afford it, do it.

Re: splurges

So far I feel like the only thing we splurged on was the band. We both know it wasn't necessary to have live music but its something we both really wanted and can't imagine not having.

Re: splurges

DEF, the photobooth... who pays 1,000 to 2,000 for the guest to take pictures of themselves.
But, after they sent me info in the mail with the framed photo montage of all the guest and the scrapbook guest book with all the guest pictures and the picture as a favor to our guest.. it is worth it to me.
I guess thats why I'm stuck at work doing O.T. on such a beautiful day.
