I'm REALLY pale. And I have 3480561056 affairs coming up where I'll be wearing dresses/skirts and my legs are so white! Plus I am going on a cruise in less than a month and the thought of wearing a bikini in April is kind of awful. I dont really want to go to a tanning salon because it's bad for your skin....has anyone done a professional spray tan? I heard they were organic so it's not harmful, but I dont want to look unnatural or orange and dont want it to rub off on clothes. Any feedback?

Re: spray tan?
my fh is really pale, lol. we took our epics last week so he wanted to get some color and i suggested the spray tan. he had never gotten it done before, and the regular tanning beds just dont give him a tan, its like impossible for him to get a tan !!
so anyway, the spray tan wasnt all that great, his stomach was very orange and there was a big line on his forehead !! he swears it wasnt from the cap that u have to wear. he has 2 more sessions and i dont even know if he will use the balance.
maybe the actual airbrush tan is better where someone actually sprays u, rather than the booth , good luck !

OK, so I did a little research and I think it'd be worth it to do the Airbrush Tanning rather than just the sunless tanning booth. At Beach Bum, they have a coupon for $35 for your first time airbrush tanning (or $59 if you go in Manhattan! Ouch!).

it rubs off a little bit right after u have it done. so her advice was to wear black (it washes out) and u cant shower for like 8 hours after it's done. after that day, it did not rub off or streak

Re: spray tan?
i have done it several times and love it. I get the airbrush rather than using the spray booth machine...its a little more money but they can customize a color for you and it goes on more evenly than the machine. I go to Beach Bum...they are great.
i would def go like 2 days before the event so that the color has time to settle in and so it stops rubbing off (it will rub off for the first day but dont worry it washes out of clothes, etc.)

Perfect! Now that I have my coupon, I'm going to go for a trial and then if it goes well, I'll do it first thing Thursday morning so I'll be all set for my Friday evening wedding! Thanks ladies!

if i were you... i'd do a bed. yes its bad for you. but you know what... so is everything.
you're going a cruise so you're going to want a nice base anyways...
dont make a daily habit out of it... but ... whatever you're not going to get cancer from going half a dozen times or so. you're more apt to get cancer from like... a cell phone or an ice cream bar.

Oh trust me, I've been tanning in the beds many times before. It's more for the fact that I'm pasty white and I usually burn before I turn tan and I'd be worried that if I do a tanning bed, I'll be red the day of the wedding. I don't know how to time it right and I can't afford to go TOO much before the wedding. Otherwise, that's definitely the route I'd go.
