Spring or Winter??***with poll****

Hey ladies,
My wedding is March 28th. Because of the date I am paying all my vendors discounted 'winter rates'
BUT it's AFTER Easter. Which in my mind makes it spring.

I know I can go either way with this one b/c it's MY wedding and all that jazz... but i'm curious as to what you'd consider it.

I don't know if I should have my bridesmaids in short dresses or long... i don't know if i should do dark colors or pastels... I'm not sure about favors...

I feel like, once i figure out what kind of wedding I'm having, I'll be able to figure the rest out.

I'd hate to have the girls wearing tea length dresses if there is a foot of snow on the ground, but i'd also hate to have them in a long one if we have one of those super warm 80something degree days like we did this year.

SOOOO.... is March 28th a Spring Wedding or a Winter Wedding??

i would say it is spring....i think long dresses would work just fine for april. maybe you can get something that is long but a chiffon matierial. chiffon is much lighter than the typical satin BM dress and it is super comfy and still beautiful looking. (very light and airy). that is what i am planning on using for my 4-12-08 wedding.

**by the way, i also think u can choose what ever color you'd like. i dont think the season would matter too much. what color were you thinking of?

Yea if I go long i'm definately doing a chiffon type deal. I also want the girls to be able to wear the dress again so i think the lighter the material the better...

I want to do purple and pink.
I want my MOH and BM in a purple that isnt really pastel but isnt dark purple either... with rose pink accents and i want my junior bridesmaids in rose pink with purple accents.
or they'll all wear the same colors. i havent figured it out yet.

i think spring but i would go with long dresses...my girls are wearing long dresses in august (i just like long better and they agreed) and for u i think it would be best since the weather is iffy that time of year...as for color i think its whatever u want..u can get dark colors or light colors

what colors were u thinking?

actually i'll post them for you....first two are after six, last is jim hjelm and might be closer to what u are looking for with the accents.

those three dresses are in my folder for BM dresses. I LOOOVE them.
i love how you were right on the money with that

also, i was originally gonna have the girls in brown with colored accents and the first dress looks amazing in brown....

yea since it's so close to April and after Easter i consider it spring too. sometimes. but we have ice storms all through March so I'm not sure what to do.

I'm thinking of purple, pink, and/or browns

I'm shooting for spring......the ice storm was on March 16 which is my wedding date for next year...i've determined that since it happened last year it CAN'T happen again two years in a row!!!!!!!!!

that is SO funny that you already had these dresses saved. the first one IS really pretty in brown! that is the color that the sample is in too, and it looked really nice on. So did the strapless one. none of my girls ever tried the jim hjelm one, although i love the look of it, i feel like the V neck is cut a little low and might be tough to fit to different body types. right now i am pretty much between the first 2 for my girls. maybe i will just have them vote on it.

I'm worried about necklines too since our wedding is in a Church. I'd really like to get the girls nice dresses they can wear again but it kinda feels like they are all too sexy for Church.
the ones with appropriate necklines or cuts are boring and old fashioned.
i also have to think about my juniorbridesmaids. 13 and 8 years old... i want something that is either gonna work on all the girls or something that has a JB matching dress.

One thing I just have to share. A spring theme is great, but it could still be cold that time of year.

I was in a Wedding this year on march 30th. We had tea length dresses and the bride wanted pictures outside. It was about 40 degrees and she got married on the beach so the wind chill was incredible. It was completely miserable and she didn't even tell us that we would be outside, so most people didn't have coats (I brought mine, but bride didn't think to bring anything for the 5 yr old flower girl so I gave it to her)

I would just have a backup plan for pictures incase it is cold. We suffered through it but it caused a lot of drama (the bride ending up telling the whole bridal party off for being cold).

She didn't have a backup plan, so I am just glad it wasn't also raining that day.
