Is there a certain time when the bridal shops put our their spring/ summer bridesmaid dresses?
I am getting married May 4, 2012 and I'm not sure when to start my shopping with the girls!

In my experience, they have all of the gowns out all of the time, so you can go shopping at any point. My girls ordered in November for my June wedding. The gown they used could have been winter since it was long, but they had all of the shorter samples out as well.

Once you get your dress you can start looking. My wedding is in May, and we just ordered the BM dresses a couple weeks ago. They have spring 2011 out now. They have dresses out from all seasons, but do keep in mind that they discontinue dresses every season.

They're probably putting out Fall 2011 dresses soon... maybe May? I'd expect them to put out new Spring collections in perhaps September.
ETA: But they do have all styles out year round, it's just the newest collection they put out the season before. And while they discontinue dresses every year, it's usually older, less popular styles. They aren't going to be discontinuing 2010 or 2011 dresses any time soon.

Sooooo i should wait till the fall of this year to look is what you girls are saying? How long does it take for dresses to come in after they are ordered?

With a May 2012 dress youll need to order your dresses no later than November of 2011. Youve got PLENTY of time!

If you want the latest line, you can start going around this time in 2012. A lot of salons have trunk shows for BM dresses for the following season.
