square or rectangle invitation

square or rectangle invitation

Hey Ladies - I have narrowed down my invitations to 2. I love them both, they're pretty much identical, but one is square and one is rectangle. Is there a reason I should choose one over the other???? Square or rectangle?

mine was square, but this was my personal choice.. DO you have samples of both?? I would go to the post office and check if they are different in price for shipping

I believe postage would be the same for either, it goes by weight so whichever you like best

I read on one of the posts somewhere that square invitations have an additional cost because they are irregular. I would defnitely check with the post office first, just to be sure. If they are almost identical and you love them both, you might as well save some money on postage if you can!!

Postage is more for square.

I was just looking on usps.gov to make sure.

If you love them both, save yourself some money and go with the rectangle. They're also easier to frame that way.

I am using rectangle only because its less traditional and i really want something different. not really concerned with the postage.

I just sent out my square invitiations and they were more money to mail because they were square. $1.05 each because they are considered a 'package.'

i love the look of square but if the postage is less than go with the rectangle...i'm sure it's just as nice!

I got rectangle ones because of the postage difference. At $1.05 each and 150 invitations, that's an extra $158

I personally love the square invites...they are very unique:) But like the other girls here said, they are definitely more $$ to mail...if more postage is not a budget issue then I would go with the square...jmo

id like to see pics but we are using rectangle - they are less expensive to mail and look more traditional so we went with that...

I'm using a rectangle invitation and I think postage will be very close to $2 per invite.

Postage is def more for square b/c it's not a 'standard size.' That being said, my invites are square and I love them!

personally I like square

I personally prefered square. My invites were shaped like admission tickets with the ceremony details enclosed in a square card. I think square invites are easier to send than rectangular b/c of the postage and size of envelope.

i like square better

I like square better but they are definately more postage. It cost me .20 more per RSVP envelope (square as well) and .60 more per invitation. When you send out 150 invitations it can really add up!

I went in looking for rectangle but I fell in love with a square invitation. For me the extra postage is a drop in the bucket compared to the rest of the wedding. I am also mailing out about 75-80 invites (total guest list of about 140) Maybe i would have a different view if my guest list was larger.

I LOVE square, but I made rectangle for $$ purposes. The square was considered a package and the price nearly doubled for stamps. I figure in the end no one is going to care on the shape as long as they got one lol... It was one of the little details I let go of.
