I heard about the sandals thing where if you book on your honeymoon you get a great deal- can you FM me your quote if you don't mind? I had a friend who did this and she went to La Toc on her honeymoon, and then she booked her next vacation for antigua
can you do the same for me.. I was wondering what it cost's to go back.
Well it's not necessarily going back to St. Lucia. We booked a week long trip to Jamaica in a butler suite for a little under 3k. We put down about $600 while we were there to secure our reservation but we're thinking of switching to Antigua or Bahamas - not sure yet. We made the plans with two couples we met in St. Lucia so I just wanna make sure we're all on the same page before we switch anything.

I have so many questions for you and I'm so happy to hear you had a great time...
Did you feel that the butler service was worth the extra cost and if you don't mind me asking what exactly did they do for you that made it worth the money? (If that's ok to ask). We are looking to stay at La Toc as well and any pointers would be so helpful... Also did you like having the private pool? I am on the fence about having it, FI is all for it :)
Congrats again
No worries! I'll be happy to answer any questions - I had tons before we went too haha. The butler service is DEFINITELY worth the money. They literally do everything for you - drive you from place to place on the resort so you don't have to wait for the shuttle, bring you lunch by the pool if you decide you don't want to leave your seat, reserve you beach or pool chairs in the morning which you'll need to do because everything seats up quickly, book your dinner reservations, bring you confirmation papers for your excursions and pick you up to make sure you get there on time...and so much more! Our butlers were seriously amazing and worth every penny. They even loved us so much that they arranged for a BMW to take us back to the airport so we didn't have to take the resort shuttle!
The pool in the room was definitely not something we'd do again. It was fun to have it in our room but realistically, you're not there enough to enjoy it. I think out of the five days we had it we went in it twice because we were always at the main pool or out doing something. If you're going for a vacation where you only want to relax, it may be worth it but for us we just weren't in the room enough to fully enjoy it.

wow 3k for a week in a butler suite is a really good deal! antigua is probably a little more though, but it's definitely something we are going to consider when we are there... we would love to go around christmastime/new years

Thank you, that's actually really helpful and info I'll pass on to FI when we are deciding our room choice :)

I facebook messaged you but did you have the same butlers the whole time? I have butler service too and I want to tip them in the beginning and the end but I don't want to if they change.

So sorry! I do remember reading it, but sometimes I read them on my break at work and then get sidetracked and forget to respond - happens to me with texts all the time! Haha.
We did have the same butlers the whole time. There are two that will be assigned to your room - we had Gilbert and Laban - and then there's a third that fills in on the days that your two main butlers have off.
They wouldn't give you butlers other than that because I think that gratuity is their main form of payment. Each butler is given 4-6 rooms at a time I believe...not too sure though. We tipped the day before we left. We gave $35o to each of our main butlers and $100 to the one that filled in. The other couples we spoke to left a little less, but because the resort allowed us to continue our butler service in a room that wasn't a butler room for the second half of our stay, we thought we should give more since they did right by us.
The other important thing I forgot to mention
***BRING CASH***
There is no ATM on any Sandals resort and the ATMs in town are a pain to get to and only give out EC money. The exchange rate sucks and it's confusing because most prices in St. Lucia are in US Currency. Tipping is standard for all excursions, spa treatments, candlelight dinners and butler services.

I'm so excited!! I'm going to La Toc for my honeymoon. Did you book your excursions through Sandals or did you find that booking them while you were there was better /cheaper? I have a honeymoon registry and all the excursions are super expensive! lol but I was wondering if once you're there if you can get it for cheaper.

I just saw your friend request and accepted it We did book our excursions before we went so that we could have them paid for and out of the way. Everything we did added up to about a thousand. That was the ATV, ziplining, booze cruise, candlelight dinner and Joe Knows. They are expensive but so worth every penny - I wouldn't eliminate anything if I had to do it all over.
I recommend booking them ahead of time because they do fill up quickly. We met a few couples that weren't able to do the Joe Knows Tour or zipline while they were there because they didn't book far enough in advance.

Thanks for letting me know! I have like 10 things on my wishlist. I'm hoping people gift us at least 3 of them, so we'll see but I'll definitely book the ones we absolutely want if nobody gifts them to us. Also how is the food? Did you feel there was plenty of variety or was it the same thing at the buffets everyday? And is it true that you get a cellphone to call your butler on?

We both thought the food was great! They have a very large variety with all different types of restaurants. I actually thought that they didn't a great job with that because there's not really more than one restaurant that has the same kind of food. One Italian, one Japanese, etc.
You do get a cell phone to call your butler on! It's awesome. I didn't overuse it, they actually called us more than we called them to ask if we need anything or tell us they were going to pick us up to take us to dinner or something but it's really a great thing. We mostly used it if we didn't feel like leaving the pool for lunch and we would order over the phone and they would bring it to us there.
The candlelight dinner was so worth it!! I would just make it for earlier than 6:30 - ours was right when the sunset so the first 15 minutes were awesome then we were basically eating in the dark you can also choose to have it in a gazebo, which is a nice option too. The food is delicious!!
