We kept most of our activities to the resort...We had planned on doing the rainforest ziplining & had it all booked but dh got really sick & we had to cancel!
I will say, if u plan on doing any island tours through the resort excusions(which cost a lot) ask around for a local tour guide. We used a private guy named richard...they gave us all his information right at the front desk(they knew him because he'd been doing them for years so they were actually cool with it which suprised us!)....he took us, along with another couple we met, on a complete island tour...he brought a cooler of drinks for us. & we even stopped and got lunch at a neat little local spot...we saw the volcano, the waterfalls, the rainforest (EVERYwhere the resort tours take u! there were even some of our friends at some of the spots!)...we were on the tour ALL day for just $70 for me & the hubby all together! Through the resort the cost was into the hundreds. It was SO worth it! just something to keep in mind & ask around about

Who did you ask when you got there>>> if you go to the front desk they wouldnt try to get you on the one the hotel has??

I was there for 1 day with a cruise and took a tour with Cosol Tours, which was EXCELLENT!!! Cosol (the owner, main tour guide) grew up on the island and knows all the cool spots. He is super friendly and fun and constantly feeds you delicious local snacks!
