St Lucia Flight Info

St Lucia Girls!

My totally awesome travel agent called me today! Turns out that American Airlines is offering NON stop flights to St Lucia beginning in November!

So now I am flying straight there and back for my HM! AND she saved me a lot of money by switching my flight!

Only bad part is that it is to the larger airport that is 2 hours away from Sandals BUT i really really hate layovers bc I get so nervous about missing my flight. . . SO for me this was a better choice!

FH actually told me about this the other day! St Lucia is at the top of our list right now. He is thrilled because he is not the biggest plane guy and didn't want to have to take 2 to get there!!
2 hours away seems far though, how far away is the airport when you do the layover!?

FH actually told me about this the other day! St Lucia is at the top of our list right now. He is thrilled because he is not the biggest plane guy and didn't want to have to take 2 to get there!!
2 hours away seems far though, how far away is the airport when you do the layover!?

Okay well we got a flight IN to the smaller airport which is 15 minutes away when we had to connect. . . but we still had to fly out at the larger airport which is two hours away because of the day we wanted to fly home.

Two hours IS a long time and it is the #1 complaint of people going to St Lucia because it is not like two hours on the Southern State LOL the roads are pretty bad and people get car sick a lot! ARGH I am looking for another option - they have a 15 minute helicopter ride. . . but i dont think i would be able to do that!

Some people hate layovers..they work best for my 6'4' FH who needs to stretch out a bit!!! I'm excited about the flights to the smaller airport. It's only a short layover in San Juan (usually here) and then you're there! And the rates are GREAT!

Most seem to be between 6-9 hours...

my flight itinerary says 4.5 hours on the way there and 5 hours on the way home

i thought FH would prefer the layover so he can have a cigarette - but with all these new regulations he was thinking it probably isnt worth it to leave, smoke and then have to go through security all over again - so he let me book the direct flight

WOW That is great! Can't you do the helicopter ride from the further airport? I was originally going there for my honeymoon (tear tear) and thats what we were considering. Talk to your agent and check the honeymoon boards.
